I know I am still 400 days away but hey that gives me plenty of time.

How is the planning and savings coming?

I cashed in my change today (wanted to see how much I can save from August 1 to December 31) -- had 5.99 cents in there. Put my 99 cents back in to start the new jar

Tuesday I will go and get 10.00 in DD - I had a 5.00 pinecone check too.

I have ordered the Mickey carpet bag from Disneystore. I got it for 8.99 and shipping. I got to tank tops for my trip. Have one hanging on my closet door to help me stick to the diet.

I have money going into my ING direct account every week. I buy Disney Dollars when I am at the mall.

I have a homemade countdown calendar on my desk at work. It says ____ days til Magic. I change the number every day.

So how is everyone else doing?

Well, as you can see from our countdown, we have over 300 days to go. We will be at WDW during the week of the 4th of July.

I have already purchased 2 of my PH's with 2 more to purchase. My goal is to have them before the end of the year. I have just started an ING account for myself and a separate one for my DH with money going in every payday. Hopefully, we will have enough in there for airfare. My DD age 12 also has an ING acct. with her money she saved from babysitting. I have about $200 in change saved. Also, I have began to buy Disney Dollars for my DD's. They have about $25 in disney dollars each so far. So, slowly but surely we're saving!

Well, so far I have paid $1100 in for my room, I bought one 7 day PHP (I need 5) and have saved $200 in my ING.

I am still considering PAP's for us but I'm not sure. We are going in May so I know we will be hitting the water parks. I also want to go to PI since I have not been there yet. I think after Christmas I will start to buy some food vouchers but I'm not sure how many we will get just yet.

That's it so far!

Let's see... I have $55 in disney dollars. DD has $25. I rolled coins last night. I have $192.50 rolled and ready for the vacation fund. We have $ being deposited biweekly from my paycheck, and we just sold our car. $1000 of it will go into the account, so I have enough to buy our AP's.:bounce: :Pinkbounc

Everything is planned....... on paper anyways. I have to wait til November to rent my room. I have to wait til next August to buy my passes, and I have no clue how much change is saved so far. Last summer the tally was just over $100.00. I know my hotel and when I'm arriving and leaving. I don't know if my DH's ex will let his DD come with us or not. (So far answer is no) Also don't know who is coming as a babysitter, my DB or family friend. But I think I have appr. costs and where/when I'm going to need PS's. Still got over a year and it's my first visit ever. Got tons of info here that's not in the books. And, of course, still got to buy my Passporter but gotta wait til the 2005 edition is out.

Any idea when the 2005 Passporter comes out. I too plan on buying one.

Most of you guys sure have way more saved then Me. Guess it is time to kick in the OT and save save save!

I am also going in 2005 (oct). So far I have:

DVC - paid staying at BCV
Disney Dollars (60) plan to get $30 a month
Coins - $600 already (thats just dimes and quarters)
Q&C vouchers: saved $100 to buy, i think in May 2005.
Tickets: Not sure if I will by PH or Annual pass, may go in August 2006. But have one saved for.

2 DS already have 10 and 6 DD saved from allowance.

Here the thing. We are going to the Jersey Shore in 4 weeks, so do I use the other coins saved for that trip or do I save it for Disney. The shore house is paid off so I just need around $600 for food and spending money. We usually eat all meals in the house, maybe order out two dinners.

I usually just charge everything then pay in off, eventually, but I have to say Dis Boards has inspired me to save all of it upfront.

Thanks for your great suggestions:D

We are going in 2005 (Dec.) too. I've been planning like crazy - trying to figure out how much I need to save . We have a big jug filled with coins and dollars-but I'm afraid to count it just yet. I don't really want to know how much I have - afraid I'll spend it on something stupid:rolleyes:
I have an ING account for myself and each of my kids. We have a savings plan in the works and unless Christmas kills me we will be good to go!!!

June 2005 maybe trip. Don't know how much change i saved in the jar. Don't plan on looking until time to pay for trip. The Trip either with the Boys Scounts of America or WDW Cruise.

We're going in July 2005!!
Here's what I have so far....

4 4 day PH's (2A and 2C) (actually, I have these already, because I was hoping to go this summer, but it didn't work out...)
1 night deposit paid at WL (yay!)
about $200 in Disney Dollars
almost $100 in Disney Rewards
about $50 in change, waiting to be turned into Disney dollars
an ING account with $15 going in per week

asking for Disney Dollars for Christmas, birthday, anniversary (LOL).... and just got the Mickey carpet bag and carry on too. (I think I might use that to haul my scrapbook stuff to crops til it's time to go next summer....might as well use it!! :Pinkbounc

And here I thought I was the only one planning a trip a year and a half away!

I have my reservation made at Sheraton Vistana Resort for December 2005. We have a jar of coins and a jar of pennies, but I am not going to count them or cash them out until next year. I am also putting aside some money from each paycheck I get.

I have a Chase Travel rewards credit card that when I signed up I got enough points for an airline ticket.

Good start for now!

Thought I would post what I have saved:

40 Disney Dollars
1 night paid at Pop
200 in ING

Restarted the change jar tonight-- $2.00 or so in there. I am saving quarters in a seperate bank.

Have money coming out of my check each paycheck for that.

I've been unable to sleep tonight and all I can do is think @ DISNEY!!!!!!! We leave on Friday for this year's trip and I'm alreading obcessing @ next year because I think I want to do two trips in 2005, one in July and one, including a cruise, in October.

I have 325.00 in credits with my Disney Visa and figure if I apply that plus whatever else I earn in the next year towards annual passes, 2 visits may be possible.

Wish me luck!!!!

Helene

I haven't started budgeting for next years trip yet. However, most of the planning is done.

The trip will be combined with a 4 night Disney Cruise. Two nights before and three nights after the cruise will be spent at Pop Century.

If AP rates come out for the week of Christmas, then I won't have to worry about tickets for the April trip. If not, I'll have to buy two five day park hoppers.

Since we'll have great, free meals on the ships, I plan to do counter service while at WDW. I'll start ordering quick and casual meal vouchers in January.

Hi,

I'm brand new to these boards, can someone tell me what the ING accounts are?

Thanks

Well, our trip is only a little over 6 months away and the planning is almost done and the saving is just starting. YIKES! However, we do have this much done...

1 night at Pop paid
4 day PH for DS11 paid.
been hitting the clearance sales at the malls and local stores so everyone is set on clothing.

need to plan yet...
towncar or rent a car?
which airport to fly out of and into... not having much luck finding good airfare from the closest airport into Orlando, but hoping if I wait the fares will drop.
Hoping to get an Illuminations cruise...have to figure out which date.

Have all Ps's planned, just need to wait to call on them (not that many)

what we need yet...
2 adult PH
1 child PH
8 more nights @ Pop
tips for mousekeeping / towncare / etc will come out of the change jar, have no idea how much is in there at this point, but enough to cover mousekeeping (so far)

Happy planning everyone!

I've got $125 in cash
$35 DD
PH are bought, but haven't received the bill on that one!
Not sure if we're driving or flying.
Probably $150 in change jar not converted yet.

I CAN"T Wait!!!!!

We're sharing a house with family offsite for a week. I already made the $250 deposit so we only have to pay another $125 when the trip is closer (would have been less if we split it evenly, but since my family is using 2 bedrooms we're paying a bit more).

My husband's company has a sales drive going on where they get $50 or $100 in cash depending on their sales. If we save $100 a month we'll have enough money (and he's been getting that almost every month). Unfortunately it looks like he's only getting $50 this month, so I'm going to have to get off my tail and sell some stuff on Ebay to make up the shortage.

We've got $25 in Disney Dollars from doing a test drive (got a $25 prepaid Visa, converted it to Disney Dollars). We've got $110 in rewards saved up from our Disney Visa. I've got $40 in Target gift cards saved (from test drives/reward programs) for incidental expenses. I've got $20 in Cracker Barrel gift cards to use on the drive down (family tradition to stop at Cracker Barrel for breakfast, then get candy for the trip). DH is fixing to do another test drive offer for a $30 Outback Steakhouse gift certificate. I'm hoping to earn $50 in Rainforest Cafe gift certs from My Points before we go.

I'm also saving all my survey checks. We have a separate ING account for our vacation savings.

When one of our grocery stores tripled a couple weeks ago I was able to get a bunch of free/nearly free napkins, paper plates, and cups (I don't want to spend my vacation doing dishes). I also have some free Electrasol and Palmolive dish wipes saved up. I'll contribute everything I can get cheaply and let my family fill in the rest.

I'm hoping to save enough extra so that we can go over to Universal one day (never been to IOA, and my mom has already offered to babysit so we could go without the little ones--I just don't feel like there's enough there for a 4-year old and 1-year old to do to justify taking them).

Thanks for letting me daydream about our trip on an otherwise yucky Monday morning :earsgirl:

Well...I know we're going...can't seem to pin down the date, but it's either the last week of April, first week of May, or first week of June. I've bought some shirts for the girls and a few princess trinkets for the road. I have one mason jar full of silver coins and I'm starting my second. I WILL NOT TOUCH IT until it's almost time!! Still trying to decide on hotel - Springhill Suites where we stayed last time and were happy or onsite moderate. I'm planning to reserve trip right after Christmas, so I can keep pondering a little longer. I plan to buy PH's gradually when I start teaching again in the Fall.

Can't Wait!!!

wow! everyone is doing so well.. I am very impressed! We (BF and I) are going sometime next year, but we too are still unsure of dates. Long story made short, his brother decided to get married the day after we were supposed to be leaving!

THinking we will be going in Oct. rather than May..

All in all, we have about $750 saved at this point. Really looking forward to tax returns!

Wanted to share a little "tip" about the coin jars that my BF does... Every so often he dumps the change jar and separates out all the coins then puts it back in the jar! Sound crazy? Here's the tip.. he puts all the quarters and other silver coin in the bottom, under the pennies! He knows neither one of us will take the time to dig through an inch and a half of pennies to get to "the good stuff". Works for us, thought maybe you all would like that!
