For the record...from this Eagles fan, the Saints better beat the Cowboys next week! ;)

I don't live in Lousiana and the Princess and the Frog ranks as one of my favorite Disney movies. It was awesome. I love it!

Sounds like you guys had a nice weekend! I would LOVE to go see Princess and the Frog...my only hesitation is if we should see it before we leave, or go see it while we are there...decisions, decisions!! :goodvibes

Good luck to the Saints - how exciting!!!

I always miss on the weekends for some reason. Went to Kansas City for girls weekend out. Had a great time. I really wanted to watch the game today but we were shopping and then driving home. So glad they won. Your time is getting so close. Love it for you.

Have a good week.

Girls trip! FUN!! We are so excited--thank you!! SAINTS GO ALL THE WAY :cheer2:

LOVE the Crocs!! Ally and Claire both took the same pair on our trip!! They are sooo cute!! And the Saints won, right?! So they have a bye week!! I know you are very happy!! :goodvibes

Really?! I think the white and red look so girly..she will love them! I think I will have Santa give it to them. YES they won!! The whole time I was like "This is for the Magic Kingdom guys!!" hehe

Wasnt it just wonderful :cloud9: Such a HAPPY story. Not too many scary parts (and the ones that were ranked very low on the scary scale for the kids). And the music, oh my gosh...we loved it! Glad you posted b.c I was curious to see how those outside of LA liked it.

Haha I was a Cowboys fan when I was younger b/c I lived about 20 minutes away from Texas. My daughter loves the Cheerleaders...but they better watch out!! There is NO way that they can win in the Dome :cheer2:

Katie--See it at home AND at WDW!!! Seriously, you will want to watch it again and again. We are going back next week with my in-laws! Take your niece...it is amazing. Cant wait to read your TR!!!!

This post is for those of you who pride yourselves on being the perfect park day planner. For the rest of you...exit now and stay tuned as I hope to have pics of our outfits and packing supplies in a week or so :lmao:

BTW...SAINTS WON! No ESPN Club on our first day...they secured the bye for our arrival weekend...thank goodness!!

Anyways, I think it is time to start posting our park plans. I will start with our arrival day and we will take it from there...

Arrival/Day 1

  • We plan on staying in a hotel about 2 1/2 hours away from WDW.
  • We will wake up fairly early (our usual 7:30 or so).
  • Complimentary breakfast at the hotel (maybe take it on the road).
  • Hitting the road around 9:00am.
  • With one stop, arriving at WDW around 12:00pm.

We will check in to the WL (although our room most likely wont be ready)
  • Have the WL hold our bags in the secure holding room.
  • Explore the resort.
  • Lunch @ Roarin Forks Counter Service.
  • Obtain a week long stroller rental and autograph books from the gift shop.

BOAT TO MK!! (around 1:30 or so?)

Enter MK
  • Get stroller
  • Our first photopass at the MK (castle view of course!)
  • Buy my kids a balloon (they LOVE this!)
  • Through the castle to Fantasyland.
  • Check out the waits on the rides. Fastpass those who are over 15-20 min.
  • Ride all the open/quick rides (Dumbo, Small World, Grotto, Pooh, etc.)

  • Afternoon parade at the castle or in Liberty Square (whichever is least crowded) 3:00
  • Adventureland! (ride Pirates, Aladin's carpet ride, Jungle Cruise)
  • Dole Whip @ Aloha Isle (FINALLY!---never tried one)

Boat to WL
  • Get bags/Check into room
  • Rest (nap for my DS)/unpacking for me

Boat back to MK
Fantasyland (ride any fastpassed rides--Peter Pan, Pooh, etc)
**SKIP ABOVE STEP IF NO RIDES WERE FASTPASSED**

Dinner at Columbia Harbour House (YUM!)

Toontown
  • Meet Fairies! (Will the line be too long at night?)
  • Mickey and Minnie's house
  • Barnstormer (My DH first rollercoaster!)

Take the train from Toontown to the entrance of MK.
Stroller Return (to avoid crowd at closing)
WISHES 8:00pm
Boat to WL.

Night Night...big Epcot day tomorrow!

Let me know what you think!! We are trying to hit all of the low key rides and attractions to get into the spirit of WDW. Thanks for any help :flower3:

Katie,
plans look well thought out...did you know that when you ride the train you take your stoller rental card and leave the rental stroller there...which will save you the step of returning your stoller that night!

great deal on the crocs; I had gotten Ashton & I some last April for our May trip with a similiar great deal...I need to get on there and see about ordering him a new pair with all the great deals right now!
:santa:Connie

No I did not!!! Great tip...so you just take your card to stroller rental services when you are ready to leave and let them know your stroller is at the train station? Or can you just leave it and go watch Wishes then exit the park without returning it? Thanks SO much! What a time saver!

You just leave it!!! It is one of the nicer perks of stroller rentals...we did not even rent a stroller when we went in May...the conductor told Danny that if we rode around the park we could leave our stroller at the station we started and if we had a rented stroller we would just swap it with the card(the only problem with that is that if you get on at Main street and get off at Toon town they may not have one waiting; but, if you're leaving--no problem)!!! Just like if you hop parks you just carry your card with you from park to park (I'm sure you knew that part)....

Yes, that is what happend to us last time. We took the train from Toon Town to Frontierland and they had no double strollers waiting there, so we were forced to get a single and have my DD walk.

We will be going from Toon town to Main street...so we just leave the stroller at toon town, hop on and ride to main street for fireworks! How cool is that?!

You probably won't be able to walk through the castle to Fantasyland from Main Street at this time of day because of the shows on the castle stage. The walkways to the sides of the castle should be open, however.

Dumbo and Ariel's Grotto also may or may not be quick attractions at this time of day. Not sure how big the crowds will be.

Good point! I do not think that they have a castle show that day, but I need to double check.

We will be there early January. The crowds should not be too high, but you are right about the waits on those rides. We are going straight to Fantasyland on our second day at MK, so we should be able to ride them if we dont get a chance on our first day.

I can not find the schedule for the castle shows. I know I read about it some time before. Do you know where I can find that info by any chance? TIA!!

HI everyone:goodvibes

So, it is time to talk about shopping :woohoo: I have gotten most of our things purchased for our trip. I have a few customs I am waiting on and I need to get snack and breakfast food closer to our departure. I thought I would give you a few pics of some of the things that I have gotten so far!

Autographs

I had read on some Trip Reports (sorry! Do not know which ones they were---it was a long time ago!) about creative ways to keep autographs. My main complaint about the autograph books is that you put them away or on a book shelf and do not see them on a regular basis. I remembered one DISer using a picture frame matting for the autographs! You have the characters sign around the matting and then frame a picture of the kids with their favorite character (probably Mickey) in the middle. I found this one for $7 at the discount store "Tuesday Mornings". I think it will go great in my kid's playroom!

My next idea is for my DD's class. You make a banner saying "Ms. (Insert child's teachers name here)'s class LOVES Disney World!". When you are at Epcot, make a stop at the Character Spot and have all of the main characters (Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, etc) sign it. When your child returns home, he/she brings it to school to hang up in the classroom! I am planning on getting this done in a week or so. I thought it was such a cute idea!

Clothes and accessories

I am about 80% done in this department. As I mentioned above, I am waiting for some customs to come in. Here are a few pics to show you my progress:

Custom Fleece Jackets:

My DD's pants: (some fleece, some cotton due to the changing weather)

My DS's pants:

Found this cute Mickey LSU Tshirt at Walmart. Paired it with my DD's outfit from this football season:
DisneyPrep033.jpg

Mickey Mouse for one of our MK days:
DisneyPrep037.jpg

My customs from LAST YEAR that we never got to use. Luckily they still fit the kids
DisneyPrep036.jpg

My DD's custom from last year. My son's does not fit him so I have ordered a zebra iron on applique. I plan on ironing it to an aqua blue shirt for him.
DisneyPrep039.jpg

Some more shirts for an MK day
DisneyPrep040.jpg

A cute vest of my DD's that reminds me of Minnie
DisneyPrep044.jpg

Some extra items for my DS that I picked up. The black and red jumpsuit is from Old Navy. I got it for $5!! It is fleece. The tshirts are to sleep in or if we need extra shirts (from stains, etc on his other ones).
DisneyPrep043.jpg

Bought these handkerchiefs at Hobby Lobby to tie on our stroller.
DisneyPrep050.jpg

The CUTEST bow and clippie custom made by a fellow DISer ladybugmom (Becky). They are SO adorable! Her quality can not be beat! We are also bringing plain colors like black, white, blue, etc and some headbands.
DisneyPrep009.jpg

DisneyPrep011.jpg

My DD's crocs that I got on sale for $9. I am waiting for crocs.com to offer my DS's size again in the following weeks. It changes daily on the site.
DisneyPrep008.jpg

**One last note on the tshirts. I am planning on bringing plain white and red long sleeved tshirts to go under the short sleeved ones. That way, if it is warm we can wear them without the undershirts and if it is cold, we can use the undershirts. The weather is SO wacky in January!**

Hope you enjoyed the "sneak peak". I have LOTS more stuff to show you. I am going to post our 2nd Day (EPCOT) plans soon.

You know I love your 'sneak peaks'. Wonderful outfits for your cutie pies. You are so very close.

I'm so sorry my Cowboys beat your Saints. I really didn't want it to happen to you. The only real Texas team I care about are the Longhorns cause son-in-law Mike played football for them in the day. So once a Longhorn, always a Longhorn.

Have a super Christmas with those sweet children of yours. You have some wonderful pictures.

Ginny
