"So this is what makes life divine!"PTR Jan 2010* NEW 1/17 TR Link UP!!!

Katie,
I'm so sorry to hear about your school problems; although you do have a great attitude about it. Gwendolyn has sort of the same problem (she had to have permission from the professor for a class while she takes the pre req class--he told her no; so she has to add a semester). But, I know you will have a great time being with Aiden.

I understand about the Disney Live show we did the same thing earlier in the year when we went in May. Can't wait to hear all about the 11th!!! I think I'm going to wait on the movie or at least some reviews to see if it is something a 3 yr boy will like :confused3:.

I am currently following two PTR's; one the family is there now! and the other the family is leaving this coming weekend(I will forward you their TR's when they start). We are going next year and plan to hit the road the day after Thanksgiving; so, it sounds like we will be there around the same time next year. We have heard from so many that the weeks to go(crowds) for Christmas is after Thanksgiving up to the week before Christmas (and considering that is when Disney usually has the best deals for the holidays during those weeks; it must be true! I sure hope so!!

Congrats! :yay: on the cruise!!! :yay: how exciting!
:wave2: Connie

Are you from the area? You really should make time, it is so interesting!! And yes...I kind of thought they would say no pics too, but I was hopeful!! My DH tried to get some sneak pics with his phone, but there is someone watching in every room :scared1:

Born and raised in NOLA, LSU alum, living in Houston. We are planning to get to NOMA sometime after Christmas while we're in NOLA. Photography's my hobby, so I was hoping to get my camera in, but I guess not.

UGH!! Dang professors. Which class was it?

OH I will write you right away and let you know how it was. We will be there first in line :rotfl:

I saw you were in the Tiger Band!! Amazing....duh duh duh DUH! (that is my best shot at trying to spell out the fight song haha). I graduated LSU in 2004! The team is so sad this year , but we are still big fans! And especially Saints fans...my DH just booked a room in NOLA for Superbowl weekend b/c he is so confident we are going all the way!!

I am going to read your TR when I get a chance. I love photography too. I have a Cannon, but not a fancy one like yours :)

Katie--you had me sooo nervous for a second!!! I thought you were going to say that you had decided not to go for Christmas 2010! Whew!! I think you need to go the first week of December--I would LOVE to be down there the same time! It would be sooo much fun!!!!! Everyone I have talked to has recommended it!!

I cannot WAIT to hear what you're doing on the 11th for the Princess and the Frog! It's so cool that you live so close to New Orleans. We're going to a Disney Store event next Wed. for the movie's debut!! I bought the soundtrack and cannot quit listening to it! I think we'll have the songs memorized before we go see the movie!!

Hey Katie!

Well, it stinks that you are going to graduate later, but as you said, there is that silver lining!! :wizard:

And YEAH that you get to go on the Dream in 2011 - how much fun is that?!

Have a great day!!

Just found and got caught up on your PTR and wanted to say hi! That Princess and the Frog exhibit looked really cool--wish you could have taken pictures!

I graduated the first time in 2005 (went right back for my MBA and graduated the second time in 2007). Played trombone in Tiger Band for all four undergrad years. Yeah, the football team needs some work. The Saints, however, are amazing this year! I'm fairly confident we're going to be in the Super Bowl too.

Some will tell you that my TR is long, but it's full of pictures. I do tend to ramble a little though. :)

Hi Katie!

I'm sorry your school is taking longer than you were planning on... That stinks. It's always so frustrating when they only offer certain classes every-other semester! Or they only have one time it's offered, and you just have to work everything else around it. But that is so wonderful that you'll have time at home with your little man!! I have a feeling that one day a week will become your favorite day of the week! :goodvibes (besides the weekend!) I can't believe you had to put him on the waiting list when he was in your belly! But it must be a fantastic pre-school! It sounds like things are just going to work out really well!

And that is SOOOO exciting that you still get to go to Disney World next year! I've never been at Christmastime (but I REALLY want to some day) but my cousin and her family went three years in a row the first week of December. They LOVED it. The crowds were way down, and the decorations were all up, and it was just perfect for them. They actually took their kids out of school and her husband (he was a teacher) took off as well. So I don't know if that helps--it's not first-hand experience, but hopefully it does at least a little! :)

And congratulations on being completely paid off for your trip!!! SOOOO exciting! You'll be there before you know it! :dance3: I hope your family is having a wonderful Christmas season so far!

Hey Katie!!! So sorry I've been MIA, but just like everyone, I've been so busy.

Sorry to hear about your school but it will turn out to be fabulous, Cruising on the "Dream" will be wonderful....

Our cruise was great, except for the line, I didn't care much for it. Althought I loved the islands, Cozumel and Grand Cayman were the best, I didn't care much for Jamaica, like I did the other but, the crystal white beaches and turqouise blue water in Cayman was so fabulous. :cool1: I would love to just vacation there.

I'm so excited to read that your back at Wilderness Lodge. That is so cool. :cool1: I went ahead and booked me another day. Since Eric and I start driving towards Orlando on January 1, and it will take us a few days, a stop in Alexandria, La and then a night in Tallahassee hopefully will put us in Orlando by noon or 1 on Sunday the 3rd. He starts school on Monday, the 4th. I had originally thought I would find a place near him that Sunday night and he just take me over to WL or I catch a taxi on Monday. But while we were there in November, I decided to go ahead a book me a room for that Sunday night at WL instead of him or me trying to figure out how to get me there on Monday. Charlie arrives around noon on Monday and we would have to wait around until our room would be ready so, I thought why not.

So, I'll arrive there on Sunday, after taking Eric shopping for food and stuff. I'm not sure what I'll do the rest of that day, maybe ride the boat to MK. I don't know yet.

Now you arrive on the 6th, Wednesday? I think its going to be beautiful. I wonder if it's going to be decorated??? I've been looking at the Thread on WL at the pictures of it decorated for Christmas it looks so fabulous.

You asked about going to DW during Thanksgiving, I had a girlfriend and her family go at that time, and they loved it. They had Thanksgiving dinner in the park and the Sunday after Thanksgiving the crowds were gone. So maybe that would be fun for you.

Just wanted to check in and say Hi!!! Looking forward to our trips..

Hi Katie! Like many others, sorry I have been MIA - crazy busy around here with Thanksgiving traveling, wisdom tooth surgery, girls Christmas dance recital, church pageant, christmas show at school.....the list goes on and on! Tis the season, right? :santa:

Anyways, the exhibit looked like a lot of fun and that's fabulous news about the cruise! I'm glad you didn't cancel December 2010 though - that's gonna be great too!

You asked for TRs on Thanksgiving or around that timeframe - there's one in my signature if you haven't read it. It was Thanksgiving week, so it was busy for the latter part of our trip (plus it was with 16 people, so it was a trip of a different color, so to speak.....hence the herding cats title) but it might shed some light on some things you are thinking about for that timeframe. It's been a while since I read it, so I don't know if it will have helpful info in it or not, but thought I would give it a little plug....:rolleyes1 LOL!

Can't wait to read more about this trip that's coming in only a few more weeks!:banana::banana::banana:

Hi Katie,
Just wanted to stop in and say hello. So happy you are still going in December! I'm sure either week will be fine as long as you know it will be more busy Thanksgiving week. First week of December apparently is not as quiet as it used to be  it was pretty busy. I thought May and October were much less crowded. Also congrats on the cruise!! The new ship looks fabulous :goodvibes. We are going to be cruising on the dream in November 2011 with friends of ours. My friend will be celebrating her Birthday which is nice but I'm trying to get her to switch to spring or summer since my kids school is not as flexible as hers :sad2:. Looking forward to reading a new trip report soon.

Hi Katie. I have sure been a slow reader these past couple of weeks. Work! I just hate it when I have to actually do it. I like it much better when I have play time. Too bad about the school thing but at least you did see the good in it and managed to get a couple of Disney trips along with it. Good for you.

I know you are very busy getting ready for Christmas with 2 little ones. I miss those days. Now Don and I just get one big gift per grandchild and cash. The girls and sons in law get cash and I did buy the girls those Keurig coffee makers this year. Don and I generally don't exchange gifts, well we say we don't but we manage a little something. Our anniversary is the 23 so we do a gift to each other then. 42 years this year.\
Have a great day and don't work too hard.

Thanks for joining!! I have not had a lot of time to devote to my PTR because I have been busy with school. I will be finished on Thursday....so it will be 100% Disney devoted...with some occasional Christmas shopping  I love the pic of you and your daughter. She is a doll!

Thanks Staci!!! I read your new update, but have not had time to comment on it. You two are as adorable as ever!! Hopefully, I will have some time tonight.

It DOES help to hear about the first week of December! All of my professors are super flexible so far. Hopefully, I will get some good ones that Fall and will be able to sneak over there around that time :yay:

Being paid off is SO exciting...and it makes me nervous!! I need to get everything together after my last final on Thursday. I am anxiously awaiting that. I have everything bought, just need to organize and pack!! Thanks for reading

Carolyn,

Thank you so much for checking in. An extra day in the WL :dance3: That is amazing! We actually pushed our ressie back a week in order to give us some more time to get ready after my sister in law gets married Jan 2nd. We are super excited!!! I think the decorations come down by the 3rd...but I am not sure. I hear it is sooo beautiful during Christmas!! I know you are getting excited about your trip! Cant wait to read about it! :lovestruc

I know Sara!!! It is coming sooo fast. Thank you so much for the tip on your TR! I love how you gave yourself a plug. hehe so funny. I would LOVE to read it. Hopefully I can get caught up after finals are over Thursday :yay:

OH no Nichole!!! I think the rates are so amazing this year, people could not resist ;) I love your pictures!! Are you going to write a TR? That is awesome that you are cruising with friends!!! We may have some friends come along on ours. It makes it so much more fun when the kids have someone to play with their own age :thumbsup2 Thanks for keeping up with my PTR!! I will have much more time to update when school is over.

Ginny, THank you so much for popping in and saying hi!!! I can not believe you have been married for 42 years!!! You are so inspiring to me!!

I know that it must be hard to buy for adults now. hehe We are harder than the kiddos! My mother is having a blast buying for the grandkids. I know I will miss it when it is gone. :goodvibes

Like usual, we have been very busy around here. My finals are done and I am off for my Christmas Break  It feels wonderful. My daughter and son have one more week of school and mother's day out, so I will have a few days to myself! I will need them because we are only 4 weeks away from leaving  Lots to do!

princessad.jpg

First, if you have not seen The Princess and the Frog it is a TOTAL MUST DO!! Such a wonderful movie! It was my 2 year old son's first movie in the theater. All of the kids laughed out loud, sang, clapped and danced. In my opinion, it is one of Disney's best movies...but I may be biased because I live in Louisiana. We will probably go see it again before the holidays are done. I want to take my in-laws.

As some of you know, my sister in law is getting married January 2nd! I am in the wedding as a bridesmaid. She was nice enough to pick three styles of dresses from JCrew Weddings and have us pick the style we like best in black. I first ordered a different style, but did not like it on me at all! So, I just ordered this one and I should get it in the mail tomorrow. Lets hope I like it! :thumbsup2

jcrewdress.jpg

With our trip approaching so soon, I am in full planning mode. I have lots of things to do still. I have finalized our park plans and dining ressies, etc. I need to start putting together my binder. If anyone has good links you can show me for binder inspiration, please share!

As far as the kids go, I have bought about 5 sets of matching tshirts at the Disney Store. I will post pics soon of those. I figured that they would have coats on for the most part, so no need to go ALL out on customs.......

BUT.....

Can't go a trip without ANY! :lmao: I really wanted the kids to match with their outerwear/coats. You would be SO surprised how hard it is to find matching red fleece jackets for kids! There are always some sort of graphic or something on them. I finally found some great ones at "The Children's Place" and they were available in both toddler and girl sizes. Here is a picture...

fleece.jpg

I then found a lady on etsy.com that makes disney shirts. I mailed the fleece jackets to her and she is monogramming the chest area with their names in Disney font and a Mickey and Minnie applique above. It will be so cute! Can't wait to get them back! I am also getting some custom shirts made from my friend, so more on those in my next post.

I just searched on crocs.com again and the Mickey Crocs for kids were on sale for $9.99 and FREE shipping! What a deal:wizard:

I ordered this one for my daughter...

and this one for my son...

Ok, let me wrap this post up with some NFL news as the SAINTS are about to play!!!

Saints.jpg

My husband is a DIE HARD Saints fan. Not easy to be one as we have never really had a great season. Well, as most of you know, the Saints are 12-0!!! Everyone is SO thrilled and we are all praying for a Superbowl year! In the midst of finalizing plans....we found out that the first weekend of the Playoffs start the day we check into Disney!! :scared1:

SO

My travel agent checked to make sure there are plenty of televisions in the bar at the WL. Of course, we could go to the awesome ESPN Club but, it will be our first night in WDW!! We are planning on being in the MK. :sad2:

PLEASE pray that the Saints win today! If they do, they clinch a bye for the first weekend of Playoffs, which means that we will be enjoying MK on our first night and not beer and onion rings with screaming fans!

GOOOOOOOOOOOOO SAINTS!:cheer2:

Great deal on the crocs! Thanks for posting. I ordered a pair for me, my daughter, and one for each of my nephews that are going all for 42.00 shipped!! Not bad for 4 pairs of crocs...not that I needed any more Christmas stuff for them...just couldn't pass it up! :rotfl:

Sounds like you have a lot going on! We're probably going to go see The Princess & the Frog when we come in for Christmas. Glad to hear it was so good.

In the meantime, Geaux Saints!

Glad to hear you enjoyed P&TF. We are dying to see it, but we had Christmas activities Friday, Saturday and today! And more of the same next weekend. I will likely take them during Christmas and New Years...great way to beat the post Christmas blues I would say!;)

Looking forward to your next update - can't wait to see your clothing choices this trip!:)

That is an awesome deal!!! Glad I could help :thumbsup2 We love crocs at our house. It is SOOO easy to tell the kids to go put their crocs on rather than deal with tennis shoes!

WHO DAT?! What a nail biter. We will bring our A game playing the Cowboys :cheer2: You will love Princess and the Frog. Just screams New Orleans. It is such a great tribute. Even the acents are RIGHT on. You know how most movies are totally off? haha.

Oh!! Almost done with the clothes! Still waiting on a few shipments. I am giving myself till next week to get it all together. Cant wait to show yall! :woohoo: The movie was AWESOME. You will love it. I keep raving to all my friends. I know what you mean about being so busy. I literally picked my daugther up, threw her in the shower, dressed her then ran off to the theater. Luckily I had gotten tickets the day before b/c the line was out the door...in the rain...and cold :scared1:

I always miss on the weekends for some reason. Went to Kansas City for girls weekend out. Had a great time. I really wanted to watch the game today but we were shopping and then driving home. So glad they won. Your time is getting so close. Love it for you.

Have a good week.

LOVE the Crocs!! Ally and Claire both took the same pair on our trip!! They are sooo cute!! And the Saints won, right?! So they have a bye week!! I know you are very happy!! :goodvibes
