So They Want Us To Celebrate? WELL, OK!!! (We're Back)

This may help:

What's in Palaver stew? As far as I could tell, just about everything!! Beef, pork, shrimp ... and who knows what else? (well - the chef!! :rotfl: ) I think I had three bowls ...

Good luck with your ADRs (I still have about 2 months to go ... popcorn:: )

Sounds delicious! We can't wait to try it now. Thanks for the good wishes. :goodvibes

2 months before ADRs? And I was complaining about how to wait 3 months to go.

So, here's the latest. . .

Tomorrow is our 90 day mark, and I am so excited!!! We also decided to add the "Pirates and Pals" fireworks cruise one night. A CM told us we can book it tomorrow, so hopefully we can get it for the night we want, because we only have one night we can fit it in, without shifting anything.

Also, when we were considering staying at the GF, we decided that we'd do the private photo session time and get a bunch of professional photos taken at the resort, in honor of our 10 years of marriage. When we booked the AKL, we thought we'd have to give that up, because we didn't want to do the photo session in a resort where we weren't staying. Then, da da da da....my DH found out online today that they do offer them at the AKL, too!!! So, we have to wait 30 days before the trip, to book that. It's all mentioned here http://www.wdwinfo.com/wdwinfo/digital-photos.htm#resort in case any of you are interested. They do it at the GF, AKL, BC, SSR, and the PR.

Doing it there should be beautiful. We definitely want to get some great indoor and outdoor shots. I'm actually even more excited that we are getting to do the photo session at the AKL than at the GF!!! :woohoo:

Lastly, since we live near a Six Flags park, we bought season passes online today. We're going to have summer temperatures all weekend and into early next week. So, where will be going after booking those WDW ADRs?! You guessed it. . .Six Flags. It's not WDW, but at least it will keep us entertained until we go. We haven't gone in years, and it made us crack up to discover that they now have character meals, a light parade and other Disney-like entertainment. I guess everyone wants to copy from the best! :thumbsup2

I'll let you know how everything turns out. Stay tuned. . . .:surfweb:

Hi there! I lurked around on your December PTR. It was really great. I'm definitely subbing to your new PTR! Hooray for being able to make your ADR's tomorrow. :thumbsup2 Hope you get everything. :goodvibes

Welcome back! I'm glad you've joined us and are sticking around for the journey. It's going to be a great one. . .I can tell. Thanks for the good wishes.

I see you're going to WDW soon. You'll have to share details when you get back, for people like me who can't wait to go and love hearing about WDW!!! :goodvibes

I got all the ADRs!!!! We even got most of the times. Then, I went to book the Pirates and Pals Fireworks Voyage and end up having to change the time of one of our ADRs to accomodate it, and we also decided we wanted to eat at California Grill and we got it!!! We are thrilled with how everything worked out. We aren't exactly sure, at this point, when we'll get over to DTD, but there are many nights we can go, so no worries there. So, that's the plan, as of right now. If we like Boma as much as we think we might like Boma, we may actually see if they can take us the night we have California Grill. As much as we would like to eat there, Boma is actually at our resort and makes sense if we like it that much. Besides, we wouldn't know what we were missing at California Grill.

I also learned something new today, while booking the fireworks cruise. I had to book the cruise through the recreation number and the CM informed me that if, in the future, we are booking both recreation and dining for a trip, to just call recreation directly. They can handle all of it at once! Who knew? Also, from talking to the dining reservations person, I learned that they've updated the system, so now you can book all your meals and then they give you the confirmation numbers all at the end. This way you have a better chance of getting the places you want, when you call early on the 90 day mark. Genius! Gotta love how WDW is always thinking of ways to make the Disney experience even better.

Also, my wardrobe is just about complete for the trip. I really had to update my shorts, and as of today, I can check that one off the list. After Six Flags, this morning, we each got the remaining shorts we needed. My DH also got some additional shirts. I am still looking for some tops. We also tried out our flips flops at Six Flags, to see how they'll work at WDW. Mine are great. My DH ended up getting another pair today, after we left Six Flags. His were clearly not going to work, but better to know now, right?

Everything's moving right along. . .I'm so pysched!!! :dance3:

Congratulations for getting the ADR's you wanted. Can't wait to hear about the P&P Cruise. I wish is was starting in early May so that we could check it out.

We did Boma last year and I liked it and DH thought it was the worst meal we had all week. :confused3 It is different than the typical WDW buffet. That's what I liked about it though.

Oh, good! :cool1: I was hoping you'd get all your ADRs!!

I guess I was a little unclear... we've belonged to DVC since 2005 (SSR), but this will be our first stay at AKL! :thumbsup2 I was drooling over the pictures that were posted on that CM preview... did you see them?

Kathy (Essex County)

Congrats!!:woohoo:

Boma has three different dinner "menus" that run two days each week, with Sunday being "pot luck" ... So you may want to see which "menus" are being used each day and then decide what to do ...

Thanks! I can't wait to go on the P&P Cruise and get to share all the details. I love trying out new things at WDW.

We are looking forward to trying the different foods. Hopefully, we'll like it.

I'm still trying to catch up on your PTR. Hopefully, I'll get through it before you leave!

Oh, I did see those pics!!! We're hoping they allow us to go over and check it during our stay at AKL. It looks fabulous. That whole pool/water recreational site looks amazing, too!

I'm in Monmouth. I see that you're going to see the Little Mermaid on Broadway. First time? We took our students to see it last year, as their class trip. It was fabulous!

Congrats!!:woohoo:

Thanks so much for the tip! :thumbsup2 That knowledge will definitely come in handy. Feel free to pass along any more of your AKL knowledge my way. I'll be here, waiting to take notes! popcorn:: Our trip can't come soon enough.

We are 88 away!!! It's so cool to be under the 90 day mark. :cool1:

I am actually debating whether or not to bring any of my Disney t-shirts on this trip. Yes, I know. . .I still have 88 days left. . .but I am a girly-girl female. ::yes:: This is why I'm even debating. I am going in late July, so I know it's going to be HOT!!! :sunny: The last time we went in July, it was early July and that was also three years ago, but I do remember was the heat.

I have plenty of WDW t-shirts, but I also have enough Dri-fit/Cool Climate shirts, which would help with the whole heat thing. So, WDW t-shirts or Dri-fit shirts? :scratchin What to do. . .what to do. . .what to do. . .

I also figure that if I don't bring any WDW t-shirts (I will have a WDW polo and a WDW v-neck top), that means getting to buy WDW shirts I don't have yet. Besides, as my DH put it, it would make for different looking pics if I didn't have a WDW shirt in every shot. What to do. . .what to do. . .what to do. . .:lmao:

On another note, my DH is planning some nice treats for our celebrations at WDW. For our anniversary, he has a special cake in mind, based on what we like and my wedding bouquet. It sounds beautiful. If we get it, it will probably be done at Jiko's, since it's right at our resort. He basically wants to get a chocolate cake with chocolate frosting, and either pudding inside or a fruit filling. Then, red roses all over the top, with red and green Mickey heads all around the perimeter of the cake, since we married a week before Christmas. He's also thinking of doing the chocolate Mickey statue with the tuxedo chocolate covered strawberries delivered to the room, for our first night, for after the fireworks cruise. Then, he is also thinking about either doing a Cinderella slipper dessert at the castle lunch or getting a crystal Cinderella slipper for me, with either something about our anniversary or something about my birthday on it. Lots of fun to look forward to!!!! :yay::woohoo::yay:

Yup! I'm making a change, already. We have been looking once again at menus, as well as pics, and decided to go to lunch at the Yak and Yeti, instead of at Coral Reef. It works better with our plans, and we have gone to the Coral Reef enough, to know what it's like. It's good, but we don't mind not going this time. We tried Yak and Yati shortly after they opened, when they were only doing walk-ups, and we weren't overly impressed. However, we see some changes on the menu and see items we'd like to try. So, we'll see if it's better the second time around. :goodvibes

Whew! I was getting worried there: two days without any changes to your itinerary!! :lmao:

I'm a little late joining you PTR. :rolleyes1
I like the title you went with as it fits your trip perfectly. :thumbsup2

I love the purse your DH got for you. It's so cute. :lovestruc

Your plans are coming together nicely. Your DH sounds like such a nice guy and a romantic. Do you think he could give my DH some lessons? :rotfl:My Dh would never do anything like this much less even think about doing it. :sad2:

We've been married for 21 yrs and the time has really flown by. You'll be married just as long before you know it!

Your special treats sound so yummy! We will be celebrating my husband's b-day on our trip and I'm calling this weekend to order his cake. Your trip sounds so great. I"m enjoying all of your changes. I"m too chicken to make changes....:lmao:

We haven't been for Christmas so I am really looking forward to it. I followed your December TR which has really made me excited to go. Our trip seems so far away but I don't want to wish the summer away for it to come quicker. :rolleyes1The summer is going to fly by anyway since there will be a lot going on for us. Once September hits I'll start wishing the time away. :p

That's a wonderful itinerary - You are eating a lot of great places! It sure sounds like a celebration to me! You will have to tell us how the Pirates and Pals Fireworks Cruise is, it sounds like a lot of fun. Oh and you will be at WDW for my birthday (July 31st)! :thumbsup2 Have a wonderful trip!

I want you to go - stand in front of a mirror - and try to say - with a straight face: "This is our final itinerary." ...:rotfl:

Let us know what happens ... :rotfl2:

P.S. You do know lunch at LTT is no longer a Character meal - right?
