So sad for friend leaving in 2 weeks and NO adrs!

Like a pp-er said, do the character meal at the swan/ dolphin character meal! They do breakfast and dinner, and always have openings. They also are not DDP so I doubt demand has changed that drastically. Food was very good when I went. You have to contact the swan/ dolphin directly for reservations- you can do it through the web.

I had a very positive experience there and recommend it to anyone having problems getting a disney character adr.

Op here! She was able to gt Chef Mickey's and a few others due to cancellation and is thrilled. I believe she leaves today or tomorrow. Thanks for all of the suggestions! Part of here confusion was that initially she did not realize she needed adrs, and then when she could not get any she thought all food establishments on property required adrs. Therefore she thought they were going to have to drive into Orlando for every meal! Now we know better, but imagine the confusion of a newbie.
For the ones who were mean about it, she did not book 2 weeks out, she was invited to come along with a family member, so she took it! As most of us would. That is why there was no advance planning.
