We're taking our first family vacation in November to WDW. Right now I think I'm more excited then the kids. The last time I went I was 6 - so it's almost like going for the first time for me too. I'm going with DH, DD (9) and DS (6) and I'm a little overwhelmed trying to figure everything out. Flight and hotel are booked as well as a 5 day park hopper. We're staying at the Caribbean Beach Resort. We're there Sunday-Sunday, but arrive really late and leave really early - so technically 6 full days. Right now I'm trying to figure out if the meal plan would be worth it for us. I'm trying to figure out where we want to eat, rides/attractions we don't want to miss.........I can't believe how much planning and research is involved! I have to say I LOVE this forum though, I'm getting such a wealth of information from here.

Try Mousesavers.com

It is a WONDERFUL site and what I used for our trips last year-as well as our 2 week trip this Sept/Oct.

We used the basic dining plan last year when they offded it free and loved it! But to be honest they really changed it this year :( -we are trying the Deluxe plan this year-let you know how that goes. Do make you ressies ASAP-they fill up QUICK. You can also go to : allearsnet.com.They have the menus of the MANY restaurants to choose from , so you can get an idea of what they serve.

One bit of advice I can give-when you get there relax and have fun! There is no way you will see everything in one trip-trust me I tried- and wound up coming back and needing a vacation from my vacation! LOL But really. set some priorities about what is most important to your family and make a (flexible) plan and have fun!

Good Luck!

Once you decide whether the meal plan works for you or not, book your dining right away! We're going the first week in December and I've had my dining booked since early June!! You can booked out 180 days in advance and you would be surprised how many places you can't get in, or time slots you can't eat at!!! The dining plan works out great for us and the kids...we just do the basic dining plan...1 table service meal,1 snack (we use for breakfast) and 1 counter service meal. Since our kids are so young, we do the sit down for lunch so we all take a load off mid day and rest and have a great lunch and then we do counter at dinner when we're all tired and we're just eating cause we have to, you know? Good luck with your plans and have fun!!!!:dance3:

I'm just trying to figure out where we want to dine. There's so many places to choose from! It's almost like I have too much information now - LOL!

I've heard wonderful things about Le Celliar in Epcot &. Chef Mickey's in Contemporary--we have been there but have them booked for our trip, Hollywood & Vine at MGM is really good! Just to name a few........I know...it's a lot to plan for! Some people don't understand how much work it is to get just the basics done...but it's SOOOO worth it in the end! Enjoy!!:goodvibes
