So...no DVC at the Star Wars hotel...at least so for now...

Not really surprising. It sounds great, but more like the kind of place you would stay at once for the truly unique experience as opposed to returning to again and again.

Wonder if you’ll be able to use points like you can for cruises. Realize not a great use of points, but curious if will be an option.

If we can, the points will likely be quite high, but for those that have extra points, it may be an option. I wonder if it will be the equivalent of a "land cruise" sort of an all inclusive (meals, entertainment) type thing? I think it is an intriguing prospect.

would be actually a cool idea if the whole immersive thing actually happens and continues, meaning disney doing it for a few years but then stopping cause it costs money or more staff/resources. it would be like coming home to your home town (station) after being away on an adventure in the galaxy. ya i know that sounds pretty geeky, but with people like us say who own there and stay there year after year you can actually build a story line over the years. ok i'm going to go out on a real geeky stretch here but sort of like D&D of those who played it as a kid or teen and had a complain that lasted years. your character aged and gained experience or whatever.

just throwing out ideas in my head.

vs a person who stays there once and done. but with DVC like I said we would be coming back year after year or more often and you can maybe build a narrative or sorts. i think that sound s very very cool.

ok i know a lot of you will laugh, but that's the geek side of me talking. . .

While it is an intriguing idea, just imagine the dues to maintain such a resort. It will be one of those situations of if you have to ask hoe much it costs, you can't afford it. I actually wonder if, after a few years, it will suffer the same fate as the Disney Institute, even with cash guests.

I totally believe after a few years Disney will abandon the interactive aspects and the other parts of the "experience" that require resources to just make more and put bodies in beds.

I just thought it would be a pretty cool idea and experience if we left money out of it.

That's when DVC conversion occurs. You just need to be patient.

I think the SW resort will be booked out years in advance. If it is, I don’t know if you would have to wait till 11/7 months to use your points for the non DVC resort. If you can’t use points 2 years out I don’t think, I could be wrong, anyone will be able to use points for a ressie there.

Not sure if the DVC points will be convertible to stays at the SW hotel, but it appears that a "land-cruise" is very much what it will be. Food and activities included ,and you are basically sequestered in the hotel for whatever the preset time frame is (3 day/2 night, 4 day/3 night or whatever else they decide, with specific start- and end-dates) with some exclusive access to "land" in Batuu and explore/shop. Nothing is set in stone of course, until they actually start taking reservations....but that's what it seems to be shaping up as - and I'm sure the pricing will be in line with the cost of a luxury cruise
