So much for my Holiday centerpieces--UPDATE post 21. new pictures

The really sad thing is that they were assembled by a HUGE nursery near our town--we get our summer plants there but these are AWFUL!!!

I don't think of floral arrangements when I hear the word nursery. However, I do expect them to make a pot/basket that at least looks like it should go together. Don't they do that with those big urns and hanging baskets? Make them look nice?

If you would have told me the kiddos picked out the plants and put them together themselves, that I would believe. It certainly looks like that.

Each plant by itself is nice. Just looks bad as an arrangement. No color, no form, no reason.

Hope it works out for you. You still did a nice thing for the club.

I took my baskets to my florist friend and she kind of laughed at them too. She said there wasn't much she could do with them and suggested taking them apart so I did. This is what I did with them:

It is pretty, but it appears that spring/winter are merged together in this basket. I don't get the holiday feeling from it either. It could be awesome with just a little bit of tweaking.

ETA...I just saw your "fix up". I think you did a great job!

Well....umm....I'm trying to think of something nice to say about those centerpieces in the very first picture. Umm.....

 HEY! You helped a student with her fund-raiser to go to France! Woo hoo! Good for you! Nice going! :cheer2: Now you can mark that off as "been there, done that" and have a reason to not do it again! :dance3: YAAAAAY!

Does that make you feel better? :guilty:

Nice compromise on separating them, though! :thumbsup2
