Well I am at work counting down the hours only 7 more to go and we are outa here.

Well, here I'm in work on the long weekend trying to catch up on things! I'm so jealous!

Have a wonderful trip! Can't wait to hear about all the fun you will have!

Have an awesome trip!! Enjoy your time with your DW and the kids. I'm sure that you'll be missed at work.

Drive safely!!

Have a great time, Charles! Give Mickey a hug for me....and tell him that I miss him!

Have a Magical time! Wish it were me. Just wondering if you were able to keep it a secret from the kidlets??? How great for them to get up one day and find out they're headed for WDW !

Have a great trip! Be sure to let us know how it went when you get back :)

We are home and I am back at work. I have to say a week at Disney is just not enough time 2 weeks or longer from now on for us. The weather was terribly hot we will never visit in May or any summer month again after that. Mid 90's and high humidity every day no thanks but it was still Disney and we were happy to be there the kids didn't even know till we checked in at OKW they were so suprised and elated to be at Mickeys house even if it was just for a week.

until you checked in??? :earseek: :earseek:

What a great surprise...but I'm glad to hear you say no summer trips, and longer than a week:) We were going to bid on a late August trip on Skyauction, and surprise the kidlets;)

Decided to add on a few extra days to our trip in February instead!!

:sunny:

Yes we managed to keep it a secret till we got there LOL. We just told them we were going away for a couple days for a pic nic we said we were going up near Sarnia on the Michigan side LOL our kids are gullible.

I would have loved to see the looks on their faces. Must have been priceless!

What was really funny was we pull in to Old Key West and the kids ask what we are doing so I told them I needed to stop and pick up something and go pee then we were heading back out to our hotel for a couple days LOL. She was so extatic when we pulled out and went to the parking lot and told them we were home for the week our oldest daughter almost cried and gave DW and I the biggest hugs and thanked us for the suprise trip to her most favourite place on earth LOL.

Welcome back Charles! I can just imagine the looks on your kids faces when you arrived!

I have to agree with you about the hotter weather this month.

Now that I've gone during July, October, November, Dec/Jan, February, March and May, I have to say that I prefer the fall and early spring temps better than those of the summer months.

While I found the temperature great for our Typhoon Lagoon day, Dan and I could start to feel the heat and humidity building on our theme park day, during our May long weekend trip. The fact that the sun is stronger now, I also got a good dose of the Disney rash after just one day of walking around MK and EPCOT.

Depending on when I can get a good room rate or seat sale, I will try to stick to the fall or early spring as much as possible from now on.

I'm wondering how we are going to make out this summer at Disneyland, but it's the only time DH can take 2 vacation weeks together.

Thanks Julie it was good to read you and Dan had a good trip also. We love Disney any time but not being a hot summer weather person it killed me with the temps in the mid 90's and high humidity.

I get the Disney Rash every time we go! And it's not necessarily on the "commando days" ... usually when I say, "hey, I don't have Disney rash yet", I get it within an hour

It's a royal pain ... I think there's something weird in the concrete! I never have the same problem here at home when we've visited Wonderland. :confused3

Charles ... Welcome home! I can't believe that your oldest DD didn't figure it out. Our kids are already in tune with the sites to see on the drive down that I could never accomplish what you did! I'll bet the look on her face was priceless!

I remember reading somewhere that some of the sidewalks in Epcot and MK were made with recycled glass and that combined with the sun/heat gave people a sunburn on their legs. I'm not sure if that's true or not. :)

Welcome back Charles. Glad you had a good time in spite of the heat. I don't think I could keep it a secret. :Pinkbounc
I don't know who's more excited me or my grandkids, and our trip is just over three months away. :cool1:

Maryliz our oldest noticed the purple light and sign posts as we came into the area on highway 27 but she didn't think we were going to Disney and when she asked I told her we just had to stop for a minute LOL.
