So just how hard is it to reserve Grand Villas at OKW?

My home resort is BW but we can't afford the amount of points for a GV for five days there next October, but according to the point charts here, we can at OKW. I'm assuming there is such a difference in point values because of BW's location. So my problem is I'll only have the 7 month window deal. Should I just forget about it and reserve three studios? Any insight would be appreciated.

I have the same questions as you, and from what I remember others posting, it's really hard at certain times - ie Early December, September, January when points are lowest.

If it's during the Food & Wine Festival, I understand a lot of DVCers attend that so that may be busy too - it depends on when in October you are going.

What was suggested to me was to do a point swap - you make a ressie at BWV for someone who has OKW points and that person makes the ressie for you at OKW. That way you each are able to take advantage of the 11 month window.

That being said, you might have to wait list, you might not. There have been several posts of people getting in in December and I distincly remember someone saying she was on the waitlist for a GV in December and got it.

I certainly would give it a try, but be sure to call MS on the first day the 7 month window opens up to ask about availability. Let them know how many you are trying to do, and then book one day at a time by calling each day. If it is not available on the first day of the 7 month window, go ahead and book a 2 bedroom and a studio and waitlist for the GV. That way you will have a full kitchen in the group.

hi, we reserved a GV for sept21- 27 in a 4 month window with no problem, so you should not have a problem. but i would make the ressies as quickly as possible.

That's a good idea about the two bedroom and the studio. Does anyone know if they have any two bedrooms that can connect to a studio? Oh by the way we're thinking of going near Halloween-is that a really popular time to go?

Thanks Misty-we must have posted at the same time :D

I got a GV on the first try, exactly 7 months out for 10/2, one night before our cruise.

The end of OCtober is going to be harder. I don't think you will have much chance.

September is easiest.

Weekends at any time of year are pretty easy.

There are no two bedrooms that connect to studios. Just like BWV, the only three bedroom unit is a dedicated grand villa.

If you'd ever want to trade points, please let me know. I'd like to have an 11 month opportunity for BWV.

fkj2,
Let me talk it over with my family and see if they're really serious (brother and s-i-l and there two kids). I'll definitely get back with you thanks!

That would be great! Just let me know. I haven't looked at the pics on the site of the OKW GV but stayed 1 1/2 years ago in one of the newer ones. They really are incredible.
