So is there still any kind of gas shortage in the Southeast?

We're leaving in less than 2 weeks and I was just told by some friends of a friend that live in NC that there was no gas to be found on Friday when they left Charlotte to drive up north. Then someone else mentioned that Florida was "critical", meaning I guess that there was a huge lack of gas there as well? Has anyone else experienced this problem? I'm not really worried about there actually not being enough gas to go around, but just concerned that it might become a bit of a pain in the Butt to find a gas station that has gas-like having to drive out of the way for it (therefore wasting more gas!!). :rotfl:

We will be driving on 95 of course. Just wondering what those of you who have done the drive recently or those of you who live in the Southeast have experienced with gas lately? Obviously gas prices are up although that will hopefully taper off a little soon.... :wizard:

Ducklite just did an I-95 "gas avaialbility" thread , which suggested no shortages whatsoever from NJ until Orlando--and even in Orlando, gas was obtainable.

Gas can be found in Orlando. It might not be at your first stop but within a couple of stops. Stations are finally getting supplies back from the latest run on gas.

Well, it may not help you but gas is available in TN and GA.

The pipelines are back up and running at over half of thier normal capacity. It looks like lots of the SE shortages were self induced.

Here is Charlotte, there is gas .. but many stations only have premium. It was the same way on Friday.. that is when I filled up for $63! :earseek:

Northern and central VA are fine too. Don't worry, you'll be able to find gas. There's more available today than there was a few days ago, and there never was enough of a shortage to prevent people from finding it. A few stations were out last week but that was more due to panic buying. Others have posted about their drives to WDW in the last few days and no one had any problems getting gas. Just don't run your tank dry (never a good idea anyway because of sediment).

Never know when to believe the news media(!!), but on the radio this AM, it was suggested that the damage to pipelines and refineries was "not nearly as bad" as had been reported.

There is gas in Miami and, believe it or not, prices are dropping. Last week it was hovering about $2.999. I saw some this morning $2.879.

Hey, that's cheaper than it is up here in Maine. The other day it was up around 3.47 for regular and now it's at 3.09. Of course it varies from station to station which makes you wonder how many of the stations are just trying to get as much as possible.

In Western NC, it's anywhere between $2.95-$3.50 for regular, which a lot of places don't have...but we're managing.
