So is the new 4 hour DME pick up time for everyone or certain airlines?

I recall that around the last time I went DME started picking up 4 hours prior for Delta or Jetblue due to tram construction...(Can't remember which because I don't fly with either so I wasn't paying too much attention).
All the sudden today I've seen several threads about the new 4 hour pick up and thought to myself is this a new thing for everyone now?
So I wanted to ask and get clarification.
I'm flying with SWA which is who I always fly with so should I expect the 4 hour pick up in February?
Is it due to the new TSA rules of taking out more electronics and food?

It’s a combination of new TSA rules and construction at MCO. I’m also considering Uber on the way back. I’ll just have to see what time they give me.

Do not expect MCO.precheck to be walk through over Christmas. I understand they swabbed everyone's candy in that line too at Halloween.

Actually they didn't swab everyone's candy in pre-check over Halloween. Most people reported that they had no issues with candy and pre-check, outside of outliers like the family on the other thread.

Still - pack your candy and check your bag! :)

When we were there last month one of the Orlando airport TSA agents told me that the new procedures were going to make it take longer to get through screening. My husband and I decided to sign up for TSA precheck after hearing that news. I guess they are going to be screening things more intensely.

A little info from wdwmagic.

The last line seems to indicate the enhanced security "may" not be permanent.

Disney's Magical Express will begin picking up guests earlier than normal, effective November 17 2017.

Due to enhanced Transportation Security Administration (TSA) security measures, Orlando Airport is now advising travelers to arrive at least 3 hours before their departure time.

To accommodate that new requirement, Disney's Magical Express will pick up approximately four hours prior to departure time, this includes both domestic and international flights.

Resort airline check-in desks at resort hotels will operate from 4am to noon daily, and guests using the resort airline check-in service must now check in for the flight at least four hours prior to departure.

Orlando International Airpot expects to be operating the enhanced security through early January 2018.

I wish they would allow those with known traveler numbers to be picked up closer to the departure time. I may Uber this year.
I'm sure that adds a layer of planning they don't want to get in to but yeah, it would be nice.
We switched to Uber well before this change, 2 hours is more than enough time with PreCheck, so it doesn't impact us either way.
We go one step further and depart straight from the park. We do Epcot on our final day and utilize their luggage lockers, which are outside security check points
