So is anyone else NOT planning to stay up until 1am to make their Fastpass bookings?

nope, my 60 day opens tomorrow. I'll make them when I have chance throughout the day, but I'm not to worried about it. :confused3

Aside from A&E and 7DMT the others at MK that have scarcity issues are Wishes and FofF. If you aren't looking for any of those one should be fine. Of course that presumes that you are not fussy about times. When someone says that there is availability unless you're checking the times availability on a given day may mean at a time that doesn't work well for you.
Since we will only do very short park days now since fp+ started I will always be booking right at 12 or 1. I want to get our 3 fp's in consecutive hours when we want to be at the park be it a morning or evening so that we can then plan the rest of our day elsewhere.

I would definitely stay up to make the reservations. Prefer to get what I want for certain rather than stress over picking up a fast pass later.

Nope. I think I booked mine for my June trip at about 58 days out and got everything I wanted at the times I wanted.

Finally...someone else besides me that's willing to stay up! The way I figure it I took the time to book everything else (Resort, ADR, Flights, etc) as soon as I could. So why wouldn't I do the same with this aspect of the plan  ?

I've never stayed up until 1am to book a resort, ADR or flight. I always book them at my convenience.

Plus, I'm fighting a cold/migraine/ickiness, so I'm even less inclined to give it a go at the moment.

I don't make them when our booking window first opens either. Staying awake until (or setting an alarm to wake up at) midnight or 1am to book FP+ isn't my cup of tea. I'm up every day no later than 5:20am so I just book them then.

And done! No problems at all booking the rides we wanted, at the times we wanted. I did notice that Anna and Elsa were gone April 24th, but we could have had them on April 29th, if we'd wanted them (which we didn't). I didn't check Magic Kingdom FP availability on any of the other days.

No, I usually wait until a day or two prior to book any FP+ for my solo days, and the friends and family days I haven't had any issues getting what we want at reasonable times even if I wait a day or two after the window opens. I think I was at around 58 days when I booked 7DMT for three for next month.

I'm normally awake until around midnight anyway so if I was in the US then I would definitely stay up until 1am to do them as i'd possibly have been awake anyway. Unfortunately I live in the UK so a 1am opening window means 6am here and I'm not willing to get up before 6am to make fastpasses, so it will have to wait a couple of hours until the time I would normally get up. Fortunately we aren't interested enough in meeting Anna and Elsa to need fastpasses and we've done 7DMT a few times already so that isn't necessarily a priority either. If we get to do either of those things with a short enough wait then we'll do them. If we're bothered enough about something we'll just keep checking until nearer the time, in october we checked the morning of and got a fastpass for 7DMT at a great time for us

I didn't say I stayed up until 1am to book resorts, ADR's, or flights...I said I try to book them as soon as I can so I can get what I want. As far as FP goes, I believe my chances are better if I book them the first night. I mentioned earlier in this thread it would only be midnight for me so it's no big deal.

But, when it comes to resorts, ADRs or flights, your "as soon as I can" is measured in days, not minutes or hours, correct?

That was my point. For me, when I see a flight I want, I try to book it in the next couple days. If there's a resort deal I want, I book it in a day or two, after discussing it with the family. I don't wait weeks, because obviously it might be gone. But I also don't jump on the deal in the first hour it becomes available. I've (almost!) never had an issue getting the flights, resorts or ADRs I want, days or even weeks later. The one time I tried getting on at 7am to book BOG the first day it became available for everyone, I regretted it - the phone lines were down, wait times were stupidly long, and I didn't get in. On the other hand, the nice lady on the phone booked us for Cinderella's Castle (because people were dropping their ressies there to get into BOG so there were lots available), so that was great!

In any case, it's all good. I woke up at 8am, chose my FPs over breakfast, and got everything I wanted. Could even have booked Anna and Elsa, if we'd been so inclined (but we weren't). If staying up until midnight is no big deal for you, that's great! Planning is fun and picking FPs is an event (or at least it is for me). I totally get the desire to do it as soon as possible. After all, I'd been looking forward to it myself for several days! But staying up until midnight is a big deal for me, as I normally am in bed between 10 and 11.
