So is anyone else NOT planning to stay up until 1am to make their Fastpass bookings?

Are you 60 or 30 days out? I had real trouble getting TSMM at the 30 day mark at midnight. It was only available for 6:30 or later in the evening and we didn't want to be at HS that late. 7DMT not available at all, nor was Anna&Elsa. I was able to get all the mountains, Star Tours, Everest and others but I do think that staying up/getting up for midnight/1am is important for the 30 day off-site people if they want certain rides at decent times.

I wouldn't stay up or wake up at 1am to make FP+ selections. I made our FP+ reservations for our last trip at 7am on the 60-day mark. I had no problem getting A&E or 7DMT. In fact, I was able to get 7DMT for 2 of our MK days and the times that I got were early to mid-afternoon. Same for A&E, but we didn't need to meet them twice so I just booked the one M&G.

This Oct will mark our 4th trip since MBs and FP+, we were guinea pigs for Disney in 2013. I'm up at 6:30 on work days and that's when I made all our selections, never failed to get what we wanted including early times on Soarin', TT (not the same morning) Mine Ride, TSM, ToT etc. If that the sort of thing you want, get your rest.

I haven't and don't plan on it in the future.

People constantly change their FPs so what you see at midnight will change hundreds if not thousands if times before your trip.
If you check the app periodically you'll likely find what you want, (if you didnt get it whenever you initially book them).

I made our FP+s last Sunday AM at 1. I went to bed as usual and set my alarm for 12:45. I was making them for 3 people. We will have my, then, 34 months old DGS with us. On our first full day, the only FPs for A & E were at 9:00 and 9:30 pm. On day 8, I was able to get A & E in the afternoon. I am glad I got up to do that. My FP date for my Nov. trip will be Tues./Wed. on a night when I have to be up at 5 am. I won't need A & E FPs for that trip and I will either be alone or with my son so FPs will be easier. Probably, on that day I will just get up 30 to 45 minutes early.

I'm staying off site, and on one of my nights to book Fastpasses, MK is open until 1, with extra magic hours until 3 am. I am NOT staying up. I'll take my chances in the morning. :surfweb: I'll be staying up until midnight (11, my time) on the other nights, though.

For those following along, EMH is not a factor. FP booking begins when MK ends it's regular hours. So, it would be 1:00am for booking.

Me! We go in 36 days and I have not even looked to see what parks we will do on what day, let alone book FP. I hate the planning that a WDW trip has become, so I just don't.

I didn't stay up late to get my FP+. Just got on first thing that morning and was able to get everything I wanted (including meeting A&E) without any problem.

60 days, so less reason to worry. :)

If you desperately need A&E then sure, go for it. For everything else, not a chance. I'm sleeping and, when I wake up, I'll still be able to get most any FP I want.

Never have. Likely never will. It's really only necessary if you badly want Anna and Elsa apparently. Anything else can wait until a more acceptable time. I just mistakenly erased all my Studios FPs (including TSM) for 2 weeks from now and got them back - at better times.

I have no intention of staying up late or getting up super early to book my FP+ when my window opens in April. I don't care to meet A&E and I have no issue riding standby for the new mine train if I'm not able to get a FP+ when I sit down at the computer.

I'm not staying up again. Once was enough. I'll get what we can get at a normal hour MUCH closer to the day we'll actually be in the park or we'll just forego FP+ completely. I'd rather wait in line than pull my hair our stalking a website at the crack of dawn.

Unless for whatever reason I get up early that morning, I am always up at that time anyway.
A big part of the fun, for me at least, is all the anticipation and planning ahead of time. However I can see how this could REALLY be a pain for others. You can easily avoid all the planning and pre-booking of FP+ and dining. But if there are certain things that are MUSTS for you, you have a high chance of missing out upon arrival. That or just potential very long lines.

I just booked my FP+ for the first time Monday night and it was a breeze. Got everything I wanted with no issue. Just added some a few moments ago as well. Was a breeze. You can alter your times the day of anyway or even miss it all together. At least you have the security of knowing you have secured it. Plus I have found even days after I can still book pretty much everything. Elsa/Anna and Mine Train seem to be what most stay up until 1am for. Both were there for me at 1:30.

I've been actively planning this upcoming trip since May. Probably a little too much :o

But it helps the wait go faster :jumping1:
