where do you un-trailer it and where do you store the trailer? This will be my first time driving down with a trailer and golf cart attached to the motorhome and I am wondering the logistics of doing this. Thanks for any advice.
I was sort of thinking I could do this in the parking lot? Then leave the trailer there during the week?

You could do that, or there is a TOAD unhook area on the road between the reception outpost and the sites.

Let the folks at the reception outpost know you have a trailer to leave in the overflow lot and they will usually give you a parking pass for it.

I would also suggest some form of Trailer Tire Lock (I don't have one of these or know anything about the company, it is just a great photo to show a tire lock) or a Trailer coupler lock (again, I don't have one of these or know anything about the company, it is just a link to show a photo of a coupler lock)

Thanks. I do have a trailer coupler lock so that should be ok. I would use the hitch/unhitch area except then what do I do with my trailer (behind my 40ft MH)? So I am happy to hear I can maybe just get a permit and leave it there for the week. Seems easier than dinking around with it in full view of everyone which stresses me out when I am trying to get into my site (I will be with my mother and kids so it is up to me to get into the site. YIPES!)

You can either unload and unhook in the overflow and then leave the trailer there, locked or if your campsite is long enough, you can leave the trailer on the campsite behind the RV. I have seen this many times as long as you have the space. Personally, I would unload the cart and then drive it to check out the campsite they assigned you and see what my options would be and then either unhook it in the overflow if space is not big enough or unhook it at the campsite.

i would think it would be dificult to back in the motor home with the trailer attached, you might consider instaling a hitch ball on the golf cart that way you can move the trailer with the cart depending on the size of the trailer, they are often left in the front parking lot and others choose to leave them at the campsite, as mentioned make sure you register the trailer at check in should you decide to leave it up front, the parking lot is managed by a local towing company and anything not registered is subject to being towed away.

Just got back. We went straight to the overflow lot, unloaded the golf cart then dropped the trailer and locked it up. DW drove the cart over to check in as I drove the Coach over there. As soon as they gave us the site number she headed over to check the site for size as I finished registration. She called me on the cell phone and said the site looked good (which it was). After setting up we went back to the Outpost and got a parking permit for the trailer which we hung on the ramp door lock. BTW, we did see people with their trailers on their sites but most of them looked very crowded.

Thank you for all the info. I think taking that golf cart off first might be the easiest thing to do and I love the idea of using the cart to go check out the site. I am hoping hoping hoping I get the same site I had in January. I know the chances are slim to none, but you can't help hoping. LOL

I never knew that a local towing company managed that. When we go up at Thanksgiving, we park our extra car in that parking lot, but we've never registered it (in fact I've parked there numerous times and never registered our car). When do they determine to tow stuff? Is it mainly trailers and the like that they will tow?

I think it's just overnight vehicles that are watched and towed. That is also parking for Hoop De Doo, Trail Rides, Back Yard Barbecue, and day visitors so there are many vehicles there during the day that don't have parking passes.

Yea, but that's what we do, we park our extra car there, for multiple days, so it's definitely overnight.

the parking lot is divided, and the none gated parking lot requires a permit for overnight stays, at least it was that way on our last visit. I've never heard about anything being towed though.

Yea, that's where we normally park the extra car, the non-gated part, I guess to be on the safe side we should get a permit now.

Although as you mentioned, you've never heard of anything being towed, and we must have had a car parked there overnight at numerous times with no problems, but better safe than sorry
