Does that mean I can hunt for spots without a kid menu? Please forgive me if I'm reading this wrong, but I'm looking to expand the options for the kids.

"Guests ages 3-9 must order from a children’s menu where
available."

if you are on the DDP - yes unless you want to eat the kid meal & the kid have the adult

There are very few locations that do not have children's menus.

From the Kids CS Credits and Menus FAQ pinned at the top of the Dining Plan Boards:

Which restaurants do not have a childrens menu?
• Toluca Turkey Legs (Disney Hollywood Studios)

• Casey's Corner (Magic Kingdom)

• Pete's Doggone Good Dogs (Magic Kingdom)

• Sommerfest

• Yorkshire County Fish Shop

• Main Street Bakery (Magic Kingdom)

• Golden Oak Outpost (Magic Kingdom)

• Boulangerie Patisserie (EPCOT – World Showcase)

For many who want to expand the options for their kids they might book a lot of buffets. A kid can eat off of any part of the buffet, not just the "child's area".

Another thing some do (especially with "older" kids) is to bump up the kids age to 10. This does mean having to buy adult tickets as well as dining plan, but for some families this is a good option.

Otherwise, the kids have to order from the kids menu where available.

our girls get sick and tired of the traditional chicken nuggets, pizza options and that's one of the reasons why we do either signature restaurants or buffets. It gives them different options that regular QS/ TS don't have. When we have to skip signature meals, I go over the menus and pick restaurants that have different kids options

Are you on the dining plan? We don't do the DDP for various reasons, including this one. Our 9 year old granddaughter ordered from the adult menu at most places. If you are paying OOP, they will be more than happy to take your money for a higher priced meal.

Thanks for the info! I've been reading each menu individually trying to find some unique choices - obviously was taking me a while. I did find some sweet and sour chicken in Epcot/China!

We had luck once at the Wave where the waitress suggested a steak for my 6 year old daughter that wasn't on the menu. She LOVED it. Of course, that's more of a rarity and everywhere else she was expected to order off of the menu. Luckily we ate at several signature restaurants where she could order steak. We have reservations at the Wave again for our upcoming trip and certainly aren't expecting that magic again. They do have a grilled fish on the menu that she may choose this time.

For Counter Service no one says the kids have to be the ones to eat the kids meal. You just have a certain number of kids credits and adult credits. So if you went to a counter service restaurant and got 1 kids meal and 1 adult meal you can eat it instead......
