I guess with the one accommodations I found for her last time, gave her hope it could happen again. This trip is supposed to be cheap as possible on all levels. And would not be affordable at all on her champagne tastes with a beer budget.
And with so many of these chains actually being independently owned, not all of them live up to the same standards. So the Best Western over in Indianapolis might be a whole lot better and actually earn that 2.5*... while this one is a dismal 1*.
A lot of the new holiday inns are really really nice, but you go to one that's 20-30 years old, and you're talking run down, squeaky beds, and questionable room mates (bugs).
