I was thinking a trip or something else fun. They are getting older and just don't need all that stuff.
So one suggested Disney, one says universal and seaworld, the other didn't really answer. I also thought about a cruise.
Well, my MIl had invited us to Tennessee for Christmas and truthfully, we don't want to go. (She summers up here with us so its not like we don't see her and besides its not the best relationship there)). So my DH says we can't really go anywhere if we've been invited to TN. I said fine, but that doesn't constitute a Christmas vacation. That's not the family present. Thats just going somewhere for Christmas. Make sense?
So, he said there must be something to do there. Well, me and the boys don't want to go to Graceland, the grand ole opry isn't our thing either (she's near Memphis). I have no idea what else there would be to do in that area and besides the idea was to go someplace warm! LOL
So, is there anything to do? The boys are 17, 14 and 12.
If we don't go to TN do you think we shouldn't do anything at all and just take our semi-planned vacation in February?

take a short Christmas break for TN and then your week in Feb. God knows Feb in NH really stinks and it'll only be about 8-9 weeks from Christmas before your in sunny FL.

My vote is for Disney in December and Feb.

Have great holiday no matter what you do.

If you are driving could you do both? Go to Tenn for christmas and leave on the 26th for florida. Doesn't work if you will fly (well actually it could....).

We went ahead and decided that we're going to buy each other a new tv this Christmas, and Maddy a kitten. We just decided it was too hard to buy little things for one another.

Dollywood is beautiful at Christmas but that is a long, long way from Memphis. Good luck. (I disagree with your DH but that is just me. LOL)

I live a couple of hours west of Memphis. I can't think of anything to do there either, but you might luck out and get warm weather.

Or you might have bad luck and get an ice storm. We never know if Christmas Day is going to be in the 70s or the 20s.

We wanted to do something special for Xmas this year, too. We decided to cruise the Panama Canal. Felt bad for MIL being home alone so we invited her, but she turned us down. :Pinkbounc :bounce: (just slightly joking) She didn't like the idea of being on a "boat" for 15 days. We're glad we decided to do it - look at my countdown - it's getting closer and closer. This is our first time ever away from home on Xmas. We are VERY excited about it. Hope you don't find anything to do in TN so you can do something YOU want to do. :p Good luck with your decision. ::MinnieMo
