for one of the education classes i am taking. my professor believes that you should use lots of different things with your students. one of which is using songs to help them learn. he had us write one for our hw assignment. who wants to critique it for me?

I love it! When I was doing student teaching all my songs were set to "Happy Birthday to You". Not the brightest crayon in the box.

Awesome. and I totally agree with your professor. I've done this with my daughter to help her learn everything from spelling her last name when she was 3 to anything else I could make up a song about. They aren't always the greatest, but they always help her.

Just the other day I was trying to tell my son which planet has the "off" axis and I couldn't remember whether it was Uranus or Neptune...wish I had your song then!

Love it! The kids will remember a lot of facts.

However, I'm kind of embarassed to admit I couldn't remember the melody so I couldn't critique how the lyrics flowed with the melody line. Now I'm going to go nuts trying to figure out how Henry the 8th goes!

I was just thinking the other day about all the silly songs I STILL remember from elementary school. Dh and I can still name all the states as long as we are singing 50 Nifty United States .
