So I got an email today from Disney, regarding the fiasco on Monday!

Difficult to believe they were unaware. Those in the NY-NJ area are well-versed in the safety protocols of this pandemic.

I wonder where exactly that family was from. The NY tri-state area typically refers to various counties in NY, NJ, CT that are a certain distance from NYC. It does not apply to the entire states. I am from southern NJ which borders Philadelphia and the number of COVID cases in South Jersey are much, much lower than in northern NJ. South Jersey is never considered part of the NY tri-state area, it is part of the Philadelphia tri-state area (NJ, PA, DE / aka the “Delaware Valley.) If I were going to Disney it probably wouldn’t even have occurred to me to check to make sure my county isn’t part of the restricted area. Disney should really clarify which counties are included in the “NY tri-state area.”

I am not so sure about this. Someone I work with just relocated from Rochester NY to Florida and was told she must quarantine.

Also I am not surprised that families don't know about the Florida quarantine. Few people watch teh news any more - they rely on social media for news. And where I am, everybody watches FOX News which isn't exactly promoting travel restriction information.

Is it the responsibility of Disney to define/clarify the State EO. If interpreted incorrectly that could potentially put Disney in a bad situation.

We live in Cape May and have always assumed we would be quarantined if we go to FL. I am hoping it’s lifted, we cancelled our July trip, now hoping for September! We cancelled November because it included a cruise. I think cruising will be out for awhile. Gave up our VGF stay that we booked 11 months out!

It’s on the local news here everywhere, including the web, tv & newspapers. Even saw a few billboards spring up. So pervasive, it’s difficult to escape it.

Nevermind where you want to travel, also have to be concerned if your “county” health dept has put out ‘suggested self quarantines upon returning home after leaving PA for travel’.

My county, Allegheny (Pittsburgh area), has rolled that out. Not much teeth in it at this point & sadly, Good luck enforcing it

They also indicated that bars & restaurants can stay open in current Green status but forbidden from selling alcohol to be consumed on the premises
