So I found the bag

that has all of my receipts in it from previous Disney trips. 2005, 2006, and 2007. I thought "wouldn't it be fun to go back and see what I've spent on food, gas and other for each trip and compare".


That was really stupid of me!

Gas prices I won't even go there!

Food costs: lets just say that for the first two trips we were 3 "Disney" adults and 2 children. Then we became 4 "Disney" adults and 1 child - what a difference!! Plus last year we had free dining and now I'm afraid I've created food monsters. We are spending almost $1000 more for food this trip!! Of course we used to do only 3 Table service meals. Ah those were the days!!

Misc souvenirs: Holy Moly!!! I couldn't believe what I spent. Alot of it is buying souvenirs for family back home. Ok this is our 4th year in a row of going to Disney. What more can I get them? I refuse to spend a fortune on that stuff.
Then there is ride photos and dining photos - boy am I a sucker for that!!

Lets just say it was all very eye opening and if DH ever saw those numbers ....well it would get pretty ugly around here!! Of course he IS the one who requested more table service meals

Wow! My general rule is that they actually have to be on the trip to get a souvenir... Even then, it's unusual for me to buy one. That's what pictures are for!

I must admit, though, during my last trip, I bought 3 t-shirts (one for each family member, including myself) ... and two of those resort mugs ... Man! I was really out of control! I better watch it next time.

I knew I wasn't the only one that saves recipts from past vacations, and to think I was called a pack rat. I buy a little recipt/coupon holder type thing for each WDW vacation and keep ALL of my reciepts in that. I know have 2005, (2) 2006's , a 2007 and a short (3 night stay at A.S.S.) 2008

I haven't looked back at them yet but when I do I know I'll be glad I saved each and every reciept, that will be my trip down memory lane which is something I usually do in the winter months.
