So, I cleaned out my desk and went home today...UPDATED!

Only to be called at home and told that, although the federal mediator, the union, & the City, had not made much progress in negotiations, I was to report to my old job in the DB on Monday!

I am so upset right now! I have been on an emotional roller coaster all week. I came to terms with the fact that I would be leaving the DB after being there 18+ years. I mourned the loss of that position and got psyched up for my new position in the parks dept. I turned in my keys at the end of today. All the things from my desk are in a a box in the trunk of my car. Now they say go back on Monday, the layoffs are on hold for now!

It's Monday and I'm back at my old desk in the DB. I learned, this morning, that the layoffs have been set aside for 2 weeks while the union and city try to reach an agreement. (They agreed to this on Friday after I had left the office!) The only thing I brought back to work with me this morning was my space heater! I'm not lugging anything back in until I know it's for good!
