It could have been a scene out of a horror movie, and it would freak you out. I am trying to not think about it! :scared1:

So, I am laying in bed reading last night. Dh is at work, and the kids are all asleep. I am on my side, with the book resting on a pillow. All of a sudden, I feel a cold breeze on the back of my neck, like someone blew on my neck. It definitely felt like someone blowing, not a breeze from like an open window. I even felt my hair move. Now, I tried to brush it off, by telling myself that maybe I was dozing off, and it was a "dream" type incident. Maybe I imagined it. By I definitely felt the cold air, and the hair move. Albeit imagined or not.

Now, this is where it gets freaky. See, if the reading was a scene in a movie, it would show me reading, with no background music, comeplete silence, then you would probably hear the breath sound, and see my hair move. I would sit up, look around and decide it was no big deal, and go back to reading (which is what I did). The next scene would be of me sleeping in a dark room. It would show me slowly waking up, feeling something strange, as I realize my nose is running. The camera may zoom in to show that I don't just have a runny nose, but it is blood! Pouring out of one nostril like a siv. It might show me sit up, and realize in the dark that a regular runny nose does not come out that fast, as I run to the bathroom to find my night shirt and face covered in blood!!! I don't know how long my nose was bleeding before I woke up, but if it were a movie, the camera could tell me, as it would have been filming the start of my "runny nose" as I was sleeping. Maybe with some scary music thrown in.

Why would I just out of the blue get a bloody nose while I slept??? It had to have been bleeding for some time as I was sleeping, and it went down the back of my throat, because I was spitting up blood also. It took a few minutes, but I got it to stop, and went back to bed.

Seeing my bloody night shirt this morning freaked me out. I rememered the cold breath, and then the bloody nose. If this were a horror film, I think you would all be screaming for me to get out of the house!!!!! :scared1:

Movie: Invasion of the Body Snatchers. :scared1:

Everyone in my family laughs at me cuz I believe in ghosts. :confused3 So you could have had something;) blow on you or maybe the heat came on suddenly and blew your hair. Who knows.
The bloody nose baffles me. No telling what went on there. Maybe a sinus infection coming on or the air in your home is too drying. Try a humidifier.

Sounds like you need Ghostbusters AND a humidfier!:rotfl2:

That does sound freaky:scared1: However, the "breath" may have been air circulating from the heat coming on and the bloody nose may be because the air has gotten drier with the cold weather :confused3 It's a vague theory, but I'm trying here.

How old is your house? Just askin':rolleyes1

My brother used to get nose bleeds like that occasionally. His nose would just stream blood. Have you ever had one before?

As for the cold breeze...yikes!

We have electric heat, so the only room we have the heat on is the family room. So, the heat coming on would not be the breeze. Since I keep the house at 62 degrees, I don't think my nose bleed is from the air being too dry. ( I always associated dry air with house that are heated to warm)

Someone needs to lay off the triple chocolate cheesecake with the RUM sauce right before beddy bye!

spooky! Has anything like that happened before?

We have the cold breeze thing all the time, but then again our house is haunted. It doesn't really bother me since I've seen ghosts since I was a kid. (mom's house has 3, mine has 1). We also get cigarette smoke smell, things vanishing and reappearing later somewhere else, orbs, and full body apparitions.

as for the bloody nose thing, eh, could be related but it could be the change in the weather. DS13 and DS9 have them every day from about October to early April. And they gush, so the shirt thing goes along with that.

Bwe glad it stopped bleeding! My mother had a blood vessel in her nose pop when she was sleeping, and like you, it was running down her throat and that's what woke her up. She couldn;t get it to stop, so my sister had to take her to the ER, and they had to cauterize it. Thye stuck thsi thing way up her nose and fried the vessel closed!!!! Bad part is it didn't take the first time, so they ahd to do it again. She said that's the worst thing she'd ever been through.

Hope you got all the blood out of your top. :santa:

I haven't finished the thread yet, but I figured you would appreciate this....Sorry for the slight hijack.

My DS4 told me a few months ago he is going to name his son, Peter Venkman!:rotfl:

I figure I'm either a great mother because my kids are so well versed in pop culture trivia or I'm terrible that they know this stuff.:rolleyes1

OP. Hope you are feeling better.

I had a bloody nose like you describe the other night. It looked like a murder scene... my mouth, nose, whole face and hands were COVERED in blood... when I got to the bathroom, the SINK was covered in blood. And then it dripped on the floor!

If only my hands weren't covered in blood, I would have grabbed my camera!

I second... third... maybe fourth the humidifier suggestion! :thumbsup2 (I was in a hotel room, but I have one at home and it works wonders!)

Hmm...I don't think they are related. The nose is probably just because of dry air and stuff. But I'm not sure about the breath. Maybe do some research on your house to see if anything has happened there. (deaths etc)

Sometimes before I get a headache or a bleeding nose (but mine are very small) I will feel stuff on my neck. Think yours could have been like that?

Of if it was a ghost maybe they were trying to warn you and protect you.

I hope you don't sleep on your back. If you do, please try not to for a while until you know for sure the bleeding nose has gone away.

While I was reading this, my heater kicked on and my daughters cell phone rang at the same time. I just about wet myself. :rotfl2:
