We are thinking of booking for mid-October (the week of the 15th or 22nd) because we can still get in before my DS2 turns 3 at the very end of the month. If you have been during this time, how were the crowds and the weather. We plan to avoid MNSSHP. Thanks

We have gone at different times, as you can see from my signature, but we all agree...Oct-Nov is the best:
- Low crowds
- Reduced rates
- Good weather - warm during the day/warm enough to swim at night - very few rainy days

Bad thing - it is the end of Hurricane season. In our 9 trips we have had 2 'canes - nothing really bad though.

We did WDW for Christmas the last two times because we have always seen them putting up the decorations, but have never seen them lit. Now that we have seen them lit, we are going back to our Oct-Nov visits....

Good luck...

That was a great time of year to go. The weather was great, crowds were fine and we actually LOVED MNSSHP. We went Halloween night and it was still great for crowds. We walked right onto the rides.

The only downside was enjoying the fabulous weather down there and coming home to cold, icky weather here.

We went mid oct 05 it was too blasted HOT!! I was so disappointed but we still had a good time I just wasn't expecting 90's and humid humid humid!!! Crowds were moderate (around Columbus Day) but nothing terrible. We had a plan and we were fine. We love April its warm but no humidity :thumbsup2

LOVE IT! My DH and I honeymooned then in '97, and went back last October. We're going again this October. We always go around the 25th, because, that's our anniversary.

Low crowds, great weather, but we LOVE MNSSHP!

Have fun!

I saw this thread title and thought, good question! We are booked at Bonnet Creek Oct 13-20th. We plan on doing Disney that Monday-->Friday. Im glad to hear others have enjoyed this time of year. We were trying to avoid the cattle herd as we so affectionately refer the over crowded crowds at Disney that we experienced christmas week 2004.

any suggestions on must brings this time of year? Umbrella? rain ponchos? that sort of thing?
