So, how early should we be at YHZ for a 6:30 flt?

We'll be leaving Halifax at 6:30 am on a Saturday, AC flt connecting in YUL. Groan. AC says 45 mins to drop luggage for a domestic flt, 60 mins for international. (Assuming online check in and pre-printed boarding passes.) Will they stick to the 60 minutes? Seriously, 5:30 am on a Saturday... I see AC has four flts leaving tomorrow morning between 5:15 and 6:30, though, so it could be busier than I'd hoped. Groan. We have 90 mins in YUL to get to our flt to MCO. Anyone been through YHZ early lately?

I like to be there 60 minutes early, but the last time, (October 2012) we did this flight we arrived a closer to 45 minutes early, (still late even after staying at a hotel near by), and had no trouble making the flight although it was a bit more stressful. We got behind some slow people in security. I think technically the first leg is domestic since you are flying to Montreal.

I am glad they have increased the layover time in Montreal in October the plane arrived 20 minutes late and we had to make a mad dash to the other side of the airport. There were AC agents all along the way putting us ahead of others so it helped, they held the plane for those arriving from Halifax

We usually arrive 2 hours early and sometimes we wait, but sometimes we need the time. If there are several flights leaving, security can take a while. I like to be early!

Just viewed an article online--apparently AC is really sticking to the 45 min. deadline for check-in. Some people transferring flights in BC didn't make the deadline by 5 min., and had to wait for the next flight.

Ugh. I think we've got our heads around leaving home at 5 am, which should put us there an hour ahead. It'll be worth it not to stress, and hey, not like we'll sleep the night before anyway, right??
