So, how bad is the Sat and Sun after Thanksgiving?

In the past, we've gone the week before or the week after Thanksgiving, which is lovely, but as our kids get older, we are having a harder time pulling them out of school to get in a few days of crowd free time in the park. So we are considering a quick trip, just Sat and Sun of Thanksgiving weekend. Drive up Friday, in the parks over the weekend, drive home Monday.

We know it will be busy, but how bad? Is this like one of the top 3 most crowded weekends of the year?

We went the Saturday after thanksgiving last year and it was crowded but very manageable. We are planning to go again this. I hope for our sake its the same! Have fun!!

That is exactly when we are going. I know a lot of people who have kids out of school that entire week of Thanksgiving, so perhaps the crowds will be more evenly disbursed throughout the week? I am expecting normal weekend crowds, so, crowded, yes, Christmas-time crowded? probably no. Get there early!

We went Sunday, Monday, Tuesday after Thanksgiving last year. It was crowded Sunday and Monday. Less so Tuesday, but still not a ghost town.
