So has anyone eaten at La Hacienda during Illuminations and was it spectacular?

WEDWDW...hi---sorry late response....yes u can get up from your table--they must be used to it because none of the staff seemed to look twice...they even help u find a spot to stand---kids were even sitting up on the large window seal looking out....actually now that i think about it the owner(hector? i think is name was) was even watching....its pretty laid back--i hope have a great time!

So now we have an ADR for 12:30 at Chef's so we should be able too see Remy if he is there that day....:thumbsup2

By 8:30 will be ready for our dinner at La Hacienda......

Worked out perfectly!:goodvibes

Thanks for the great advice...Love the DIS:cloud9:

You'll be glad you did!

Chefs is really good...at least as good as Rose and Crown, imo.

And we hate at La Hacienda 2 weekends ago and there's not really a bad table in the whole place. Granted, some of the fireworks won't be visible if you're seated along the back wall but you'll see the globe and the lower fireworks for sure. And the food is mmmm!!! Esp. the cheese empanada...omg!!

Oh, btw, we found it interesting that while the restaurant is about as close as one can get to the fireworks themselves, it was very quiet inside. Didn't hear/feel the booms. I can feel the booms from Wishes in my house several miles away from the MK but La Hacienda was pretty quiet.

You'll have a great time, I'm sure! :)

Juust a thought if you want to eat while watching Illuminations have you thought about Rose and Crown. They have outside dining and a private viewing area?
How crowded does the viewing area get if you don't snag a window seat? I wondered if it was large enough for everyone to get a decent view?

Thanks!:)

I am going to "request" a window seat of course, but nice to know I will be able to see ROE no matter where they seat me.:)

I called last night too cancel my ADR for the 4:40 chefs time and I asked her about special request for a window seat at La Hacienda and she said you can make that request at the podium when you check in.

That is what we do at Ohana too and sometimes it works....:confused3 All you can do is try.......:rolleyes1

Maybe a $20 would help the situation.....................:rotfl2::rotfl2::
Seriously it probably would!:rolleyes1 I could never bring myself too do that since everything cost so much anyway....LOL:rotfl:

For our upcoming May 2011 trip I'm coordinating for a group of 10 I was considering having everyone meet up at the outdoor cafe in Mexico at like 5pm and secure a table and just hang out there with a counter service dinner until Illuminations, but after reading all this about La Hacienda I'm reconsidering an ADR there instead for an 8pm table for 10. That would give us an extra 3 hours of fun stuff before having to sit down for dinner.

We are doing this the first night of our trip. It's nice to know you can move to a window to see if you aren't lucky enough to get a window seat. :thumbsup2
