I have been trying to get Priceline to accept my request for a Minivan for $20.00a day for the last week of August, and they kept denying it. Well today I went on and put in $19.00 a day and they accepted it. I got a Minivan from Alamo for $238.76 for 9 days.

The cheapest I've gotten (a few weeks ago) was alamo mid size SUV for $172 or so for 8 days. Now it's about double that for anything! I'd love a minivan - I drive one at home and love it!

Did you post that winning bid on biddingfortravel.com? I check that periodically and it saved me a ton on a hotel.

Thank you for sharing this information. I just got a minivan for our trip 8/26 - 9/2 also for $19 a day. There are only 3 of us but this is as good as the best rate I had found for any car. Plenty of room for luggage!

Can you tell me how to go about doing this. I have never used priceline but the rental cars for 8/9-8/17 are priced extemely high. The best I can come up with is Dollar for $268. I would like something at the airport. I do belong to National's EA. Thanks for any help

With priceline you pick the car, location and dates then you put in what you want to pay per day. They do a search and let you know if it is accepted. If it is accepted then they charge your Credit card right away. If not you can try again in 3 days. I have been trying every 3 or 4 days for about 2 months. I hope this helps.

Wow...you did great!! I have been bidding on Priceline for our dates at the beginning of August for weeks now with no luck. This must mean Priceline now has gotten some inventory for August...I can't wait to try again.
