So Happy with Southwest Today!

I was able to find a Southwest flight today from PIT to MCO for 4 people for $757.60 for our trip July 26 - Aug 2. We had to add an extra day to get that great rate - but we are NOT complaining

A month ago rates were over $1400 and that made us decide to drive to WDW instead of flying. Thank you Southwest! I can now stop worrying about gas prices for the summer.

yes I was checking that out too. I wasn't really planning a trip but I do have a few days off around the same time you're going and was thinking of a long weekend, maybe 4 nts getaway.

I've never been that time of year. Have you? How are crowds?

We are usually "off peak" timers but the current special at WDW got me thinking....

the non weekend fares for that time frame have wound up being great the last few years, unfortunately, i'm flying on the weekend dates lol

Congrats on the great airfare! I keep hoping SW will have a deal like that on our June flight from Chicago to Orlando. Right now we are at about $300 per person and that includes 2 credits from the original booking.

In 2009, we went in August for the first time with Free Dining. That spoiled me as far as cost so we didn't go in 2010.

We weren't planning on going this year - until I got the Free Dining Pin for the summer.

For the most part we DO visit WDW in the Summer and we don't find the crowds to be so terrible. BUT, we do go to all the AM EHM and leave the parks in the afternoon to avoid the busiest times and heat of the day. Also I am a big planner and have our touring plan in hand. I think that PLANNING is crucial to a good trip in the summer.

A good deal for us too. When SW released their prices back in February. We are flying from MHT to MCO roundtrip $518.80 .

I did book! Got $79 down for 3 of us and ds was free with my RR points. Not so great on the return at $165. I ended up choosing the Wed before Labor day and through the weekend. We've been there that time before and it's almost empty. Hot as Hades but no crowds. I can deal with that!

Now to get a good hotel deal.
