We booked our May trip for the opening of Pandora World of Avatar!
I put in a wait for Animal Kingdom Kidani Village and we got it!

We have never been to a opening so I am super excited!
AK has EMH for that morning we'll see how it works out.
We have ADR for a late lunch at Tusker house looking forward to that also.

I know we'll more then likely not get on any of the rides in Avatar land but I am just excited to see what it LOOKS like in person!
March 26 can't get here soon enough that's when I can get our fast passes!

Anyone else going for the opening?

So jelous, I'm sure it's going to be great and I won't be able to go until September 2018 :(
Have you considered switching that reservation to River of Lights dining package? So you won't have to use a FP for that and free a (possibly tier 1, if they go that route) FP for one of the Avatar rides?

OP why do you say you don't think you'll get on any of the avatar rides?:confused3

We'll be there starting 13 days prior, cruising, then back just one day (7 days before official date on 5/27).

Hoping for a soft or DVC opening . Enjoyed when nemo opened @ Epcot.

Congrats on getting your preferred reservation!

I'm crossing fingers that the purported soft opening on earth day pans out. I've been seeing lots of commercials on TV in the past few days for Pandora.

I was at DL for the opening of WOC. MADHOUSE! lol At least this will be an entire land so I think you'll be good and get on rides too.

We'll be there the week of 4 th of July, and hoping to secure some FPs. Even if it means multiple trips to AK. We have RoL dinner package later this month.

Congratulations on getting AKV as your resort for your stay!

We are also going to be there opening day by chance. We booked our trip before we knew it was opening that weekend. I am hoping to also take advantage of the EMH and get on one of the rides when the park opens. We have Park Hoppers so my plan is to get on one of the rides at opening, hopefully see a bit of the Avatar land, and then go to a different park for the rest of the day.

We have the DDP and I am not sure if Tusker house is one the dinner packages?

I would love to get on one of the rides but after the opening of Frozen with a 4 hours wait time.... I'll keep my expectations low so if we do I'll be SUPER EXCITED!

Gotcha. There are few things in life I'd wait 4 hours in line to see lol

I was hoping to get there at least an hour before the EMH starts opening day, and then once we get in quickly walking over to the ride. If we still hit a 4 hour wait time I guess it isn't meant to be :confused3

Anyone want to speculate which of the two rides will be less popular? I'm thinking the Na’vi River Journey will be the less popular of the two so I was probably going to aim to go on that one first.

Is the banshee ride a roller coaster?

I'm thinking the river ride will be the one I will like.

Since there's a height limit with the one that might affect the availability although it sounds a bit like the Flight of Passage may not have a lot of capacity (although I can't quite see Disney doing that). I look forward to really seeing what it's like but if it's anything close to HP Forbidden Journey I'm out. And I'm quite looking forward to the River Journey.

I don't think I could do it. I will have to pee. No way I could wait 4 hours unless I was dehydrated.

OMG I would have to pee too lol but I am sorry I can't think if anything or anyone I would wait 4 hours for....

I know am going to find out what time the 1st bus to AK is ....
I am with you I too think Na'vi is going to be the less popular one.
That's the one I want to go on 1st anyway :)

That's so exciting!! I love the looks of Pandora and can't wait until I am able to visit. I hope that you enjoy your trip :)
