The Polynesian has been the hotel I've always wanted to stay at since I first went in 1986. My fiancée and I decided to split our stay between the Beach Club, and now Polynesian Garden View! I'm thrilled! We requested Tokelau because we want to be close to the Great Ceremonial House, as well as the TTC. We also want a balcony, and to avoid a parking lot view as much as possible. That seemed to be the best way to get all that.

I really think, though, that whatever building we end up in, I'll have a GRAND time!!!

So I need to hear advice, tips, stories...anything y'all would like to share! :)

Yay, Dan!!!

I think splitting your honeymoon stay between the BC and the Poly is a GREAT plan! I love the Polynesian grounds in the evening- it's very romantic with all the torches and the subtle music wafting from all around you. And you can't beat cuddling with your sweetie in a hammock to watch the fireworks...:D

Tokelau is a great, very central location. But I've stayed in buildings on all edges of the property, and every location has had its own special magic. If you get Tokelau, great. Since it's such a huge building, chances are good you'll be there. But if you're in a different location, you'll just find different things to love!

The buildings closest to the TTC are incredibly convenient to the transportation! The buildings on the Luau Cove side of the property feel more intimate and remote, but are still near the Great Ceremonial House. The middle buildings, like Tokelau and Samoa, put you *so close* to the pools!

The garden views are lush and cozy all over the property. I think you'll be happy with any location you get! :sunny:

Congratulations on booking the Poly!! We are going in 2 days for our first stay there. I faxed my room request yesterday and I asked for top floor with a balcony. I studied the map and figured that I would be happy in any building - as long as we get a balcony.

I hope you get what you want!!

You have good taste! Those are my two favorite resorts too.
Tokelau is the largest longhouse (well maybe Tahiti is as large), so there's a good chance you'll get what you asked for. But there really aren't any bad rooms at the Polynesian; it seems like every longhouse has its advantages. On our recent trip we got Rarotonga first floor, which wasn't what I was hoping for, but there we were literally just a few steps from the Great Ceremonial House. It was great!

We honeymooned in the Poly back in 1990. I cannot remember the name of the building then, but it is now Tokelau. It was a great location. We fell in love with the whole feel of the Poly. We went on a late 1 year anniversary and had a special time with a lagoonview. So nice to see the castle and the water pagent right from the room. We stayed in what is now Hawaii and it was the second floor because we did not have a balcony.

On Thursday we are going back with our 2 DD's and letting them have the same special memories we have of staying there.

Hey Lexxiefern - looks like we are going the same place the same time! I'll have my home depot mickey head on my backpack. :hyper:

::yes::

Congratulations!

As you can see by my signature....The Poly was my first resort...way back in 1971..my Honeymoon Resort...my 2 DD's favorite resort ....and it remains my favorite!

Have a great time!! :wave2:

I guess maybe instead of requesting a specific longhouse, I'll just request a balcony. Then there will be some element of spontenaity.

Thanks all!

Just wanted to add my 2 cents. We LOVE the Poly, it's one of our favs. Take a stroll along the beach at night and relax in a hammock. Take a walk up to sunset point, one of my very fav spots in all of Disney. Just enjoy, enjoy, enjoy. Hope you like at as much as we do!!

Have a Wonderful Trip!!!
