So I've just finished booking my first stay at BCV. My mom, aunt and I are heading to Key West and BCV for F&GF next May to cross one more thing off my mom's bucket list. My mom 's health isn't the greatest (stroke & fibromyalga) and she has always wanted to see both places/events. I really wanted to get into BCV but would have taken BWV as a second choice so that we didn't have far to go. I was worried that we wouldn't be able to get into to BCV but we got exactly what we wanted :cool1: It took the rest of my points & buying a few more from MS but I am finally going to get to stay at BCV!!!

The only bad thing is that I've got to do some long range planning to figure out how I am going to get out of the evil borrowing state that I seem to have gotten myself into :rotfl:

Borrowing isn't evil. Catching up because you couldn't go one year is!

Best wishes to you, HayGan! If it took borrowing to make this happen, so be it. I have said prayers of thanksgiving so many times that we took my mom and dad before they both died of Alzheimer's. DVC has provided us with hundreds of hours of time with many family members and friends. I can't think of a better way to spend money than making memories with those you love. Have a fabulous trip! I predict that as the years go by you will treasure the memories of this trip and won't regret for a second borrowing to make it happen.

This sums it up perfectly! Enjoy your vacation:)

Glad you were able to get what you wanted. Hope your mom has the time of her life. We managed to book a stay at BCV a couple of years ago, loved it and decided to buy points there. We will be there next May.

The borrowing comment hit me hard because I have been avoiding borrowing and realized, "why??". Both DH and I are in our 60's, he has cancer and I am a survivor, we won't be seeing the ends of our contracts, why NOT borrow and enjoy every minute while we both still can. Thanks for adjusting my perspective this morning.

Tomorrow I'll probably go back to trying to make sure I bank points into the next year. ;) Old habits die hard.

Thanks everyone! It really is special to me & to her that we can take this trip. She really regrets not doing some things when she could. Having a stroke at 54 really changes your perspective on life. I'm so happy that I have been able to take her to WDW several times using my DVC. We have made so many memories with her and others in our family. I don't regret buying into DVC at all. Our memories with it are priceless!
