OK....sooooo before we joined DVC in January we already had a cruise booked from 7/4 to 7/11 on RCCL's Freedom of the Seas. Since we are driving to the cruise I "naturally" extended or vacation to stay at BLT for a few nights post cruise. :cool1::cool1:

I'm only posting this here because I think you all will understand, but I'm having a hard time psyching myself up for the cruise...I just want my Disney time!!

I even tried to convince my husband to cancel the cruise a few times and he was not into that.....now....I must admit that I love cruise life, and this is a wierd phenomenon that I can't get excited...... :confused3

So....my question to you all is.....anyone else tempted to cancel other vacations in favor of Disney???

Congrats on your purchase! We're new owners too and I've already started planning (and reserving) w/borrowed points! Have fun on your cruise! Maybe next time you can go on a DCL cruise...:goodvibes

We will be on Freedom in September!:yay:

To answer your question, we have owned DVC for almost 10 years. We used to do Disney 2-3 times a year.
Now it is about once a year and 1 cruise. Love those cruises!

I wouldn't cancel, I take all of the vacations that I can. For Memorial weekend (just returned a week ago!) DH and I were on a RCCL 3 night cruise and it was fabulous. The snorkeling in Nassau was the best I've ever seen it there. I had snorkeled at the same area on a November DCL cruise, and the difference was in May the water was so much calmer, clearer and everything just seemed more brilliant.

We didn't even use our DVC for the night before, we used DH's Marriott points for a night at the JW Marriott in Orlando., which was fabulous!!!:thumbsup2

We did visit DHS for the last performance of the Am Idol Experience for the day, so it wasn't a completely non-Disney trip.

Enjoy your cruise.

Bobbi:goodvibes

PS. When we first bought in '03, we had a December cruise out of Miami on Carnival already booked, and we just couldn't bear to be in Florida without at least trying our DVC. So, our first stay using DVC was the weekend after the cruise at VWL, our very favorite resort. I totally understand how you feel, but I wouldn't cancel a cruise!

Actually Disney is the ONLY vacation we do:lmao:
We haven't even began to get the "been there, done that" feeling! Will be checking in 7/3 for our annual 4th of July trip and planning Christmas and 2011 trips....just love the World....Shawnpirate:

I understand you are soooo looking forward to BLT but the RCCL Freedom is a GREAT ship! You will have a wonderful time. We love RCCL and cruise on them often.
As much as we love Disney, we all prefer crusing, even my 16 and 12 year old but Disney is a VERY close second.
Can you do BLT before and after cruise? Maybe that would give you something to look forward to after your cruise too?

Congratulations and welcome to the fun world of DVC vacations to come!
