I know it's a very British thing, :) but Christmas wouldn't be Christmas without crackers on the table at lunch/dinertime. Do you buy them where you live? Have you ever heard of them?

These link tells you about them, if you have no idea.

Have a box waiting on the table for Christmas morning, when my sister and her family come! They are filled with tiny little toys (i.e. junk!) but we have such fun with them! :thumbsup2

Hmm....I just realized that in your picture it's obviously two different people doing the pulling...we've always just pulled our own. Are there any other "rules" to this that I'm unaware of??

I love Christmas crackers! And I make everyone wear the paper crowns that come inside of them.

I got the stuff over the internet last year and made some, very fun, I also put lottery tickets in them...loved it!

I thought you are supposed to pull a cracker the following day, on Boxing Day? :confused3

We always have crackers at Christmas supper. We always share pulling duties with the people sitting beside us and we always wear the hats and have fun playing with the toys that come inside.

Heck - we've found Thanksgiving themed ones too! If there's a cracker in the vicinity, it will be popped!

We pull crackers on Christmas day, but we are English. The one thing that was wierd about being at WDW for Christmas was the fact that we couldn't find crackers in the stores anywhere for Christmas day!!

here in Western Canada we do crackers for Christmas Dinner.
In my family we try to have everybody hold their own and the end of the person next to them so everybody pulls all at once.
Then you wear the silly hats :goodvibes

We do when we go to DBF's parents for Christmas, so this year we probably will. :) It's fun and the kids enjoy it.

I made my own crackers this year because I was sick of immediately throwing away the junky toy in side (the ones sold in the US seem to only have plastic junk). So this year they have a crown, some truffles, chocolate coins, a tiny snowflake ornament, and a joke ( I had the most fun printing out really corny jokes from online). I can't wait for everyone to open them!

We love them! I originally saw them in a catalog. One year I put tickets (copies) to Wicked in them.

Bought ours at our local British store. Had no idea they sold them, but last year I was on a quest for Dolly Mixture (sp?) for my mom (her mom was British so half her family is British and that is a beloved treat from her childhood) and I found them.

I know Target or some place sells them as well, but it isn't the same.

Ours are presently stuffed into the tree. Probably not what we are supposed to do, but I found that a handy place to store them.

I made some once for the kids (with toilet paper rolls), but other than that we've never had them. I think they'd be fun, especially if I were having a Christmas party.

I have umteen pictures of me at holidays with those silly crowns on. I wear mine the longest because I'm the Queen. Queen of what? I dunno. lol

We pull crackers for most every get together. B-days, Easter, it doesn't matter. My SIL finds them and stocks up. We got together 2 weeks ago for dinner and pulled crackers. We're nutty.

We had crackers every year growing up at my aunt and uncle's house for Christmas dinner. One year, when we were older, my aunt decided that we didn't need them anymore. Everyone whined and complained, so she went searching in the attic for some. She has never missed a year since. Some of us never grow up :cutie:

We do crackers for Christmas day. We never did it growing up, I started buying them the first year I lived on my own (at 18) and have been getting them every Christmas since.

I usually order the Tom Smith one's online and pay way too much but this year I stumbled on them in Homegoods for less than half the price! They were Tom Smith brand too!

My girls love the crowns that come in them and will wear them off and on all week.

Talk about board imitating life, I was just talking about these with another mom at the bus stop this morning.
