I have been known to overpack and I keep reading about packing extra walking shoes for everyone. Dh thinks I am nuts. We are going in Jan and will not be doing water rides but I am concerend about rain, etc.

So do you?

For dh, I let him take care of himself :flower: That meant one pair of tennis shoes, even to the pool.

For me, I only took the shoes on my feet - crocs. I didnt have to worry about them getting wet cuz they are rubber, and I didnt worry about my feet hurting cuz I wear them all the time. FYI, I did almost slip coming down the painted cement walkway outside our room at POP, so be careful on that slick paint!

For ds, I packed his sandals, a pair of tennis shoes, and some water shoes. His feet are so little it doesnt really take up in more room, and I could totally seee him kicking off his shoes in the middle of a ride, and me not finding out until later!

I always pack an extra pair of shoes, we wear sneakers and there is nothing worse than wearing a wet pair of sneakers while walking in the parks.
I also pack a pair of flip flops for each person.

I took 1 pair of sneakers, 2 pairs of sandels, 1 pair of flip flops and 1 pair of watershoes......but Im crazy! lol

For the rest of the group I packed sandels and watershoes and they wore there sneakers.

Wear one pair of sneakers, pack a pair of sneakers and then usually have a pair of flip flops, slides or something like that - to just slip on to run to ice machine, maybe if we are just going to eat - walk down to pool

Same here. The sneakers on my feet running thru the airport (haha) pack a pair of sneakers and flip flops. I have encountered rain and wet sneakers isn't fun but I also get tired of wearing the same pair everyday. Same for the girls. Leaves room for some more Mickey shirts!!!

Summer months...I pack 2 pair of sandals because of rain. That way if one pair is wet, I can switch to the other. I also bring flip flops for the pool.

For my kids I pack one pair of sandals and one pair of sneakers

In the winter months, I pack my sandals and one winter shoe like either my sneakers or my Lands End summer crocs.

I used to only bring one good pair of sandals - looked like Birkenstoks (sp?)...until one trip where the leather strap on those sandals just broke and they couldn't be fixed. Luckily I had a new pair of walking sandals I had just bought with me. Otherwise I'd have to take time out of my trip to go buy new shoes!

A backup pair is a good idea.

I wear a pair of shoes (sneakers or sandals depending on the season), then take a pair of sneakers, plus my "soccer" sandals.

Didn't bring the soccer sandals on our January '04 trip and regretted it when I wanted to take a quick trip to the food court and had to put on my socks and shoes. So in the future I'll always pack my "soccer" sandals.

Kids wear sneaks and I pack another pair of sneaks and their soccer sandals.

I also always pack a beach towel for me ... kids are okay using the resort bath towels, but I prefer a bit more coverage :rotfl2:

I wear flip flops 99% of the time, even at home, so i take several pairs.

For DH - i am taking 3 pairs of sandals and he is wearing his sneakers on the flight down.

For DS - i am taking 2 pairs of sandals, 1 pairs of sneakers, and he is wearing a parir on the flight down.

I am a minimalist, I guess. I wear a pair of sneaker on the plane. I pack a pair of flip-flops for the pool and a pair of dressy shoes/sandals for dinner. I just don't see the need for multiple pairs of the same style shoe. :confused3 They just take up too much precious space in my suitcase.

The very first night at Magic Kingdom we got stuck in a downpour by the parade we were all soaked. The extra pairs of sneakers came in handy til the others dried.

I say everyone needs 2 pair of comfortable walking shoes/sneakers. I made sure we all had 2 pair on our last trip, well, thank goodness I did. Our last night it poured the whole time we were there. We had a great time...the best all week, but our sneakers were so wet we could pour the water out of them. They took were still wet 2 days later! I really say at least 2 pair each!

I suppose I'm a minimalist too because I always just bring one pair. My view on how much to pack is always prefaced by the fact that there are Targets and Walmarts everywhere you go .... I suppose depending on your transportation that may not be an option.

We always pack two pairs of shoes/sneakers per person (more for the kids).

I wear one pair of walking shoes and then pack another pair of shoes. They are shoes that I would typically not wear all day in the park, but might for just an evening stroll in a park for dinner or to the pool. I just like to wear a different pair of shoes other than the ones I have been wearing all day.

When we go in November I plan to wear my Keens on the plane and pack my Merrell thong sandals. I always bring 2 pair of shoes for DD and sometimes 3. Her shoes are a lot smaller than mine though! :rotfl:
