So ... Do you find it easier to plan EVERY detail

"Half the fun is to plan the plan." - Mrs. Lovett (Sweeney Todd)

I whole heartedly agree with this quote. I love planning what we are going to do. If I didn't I wouldn't have found this board or the plethora of information I've gotten from it. I make an itinerary of the days we'll be there and what parks we'll go to on each day. Then I figure out which restrauants we'll be going to on each day for each meal. I make the appropriate PS if needed and then I look up the menus so I can budget how much the meals will cost. I find it really helps to know just how much money you need so you aren't left wishing you had more money for souvenieers or such. Have fun and be flexable. :)

Or is that just me :lmao:

I have been sitting here for the last 3hrs (basically since I put my kids to bed) stressing over which days will be in which parks and which restaurants I want to reserve, etc.

I guess I am just worried that if I dont have things planned we will miss so many of the wonderful things Disney has to offer. On the other hand, I dont want to wake my children for previously reserved dining reservations ... AHHHHHHHHHHHHH :scared1: how do I find the middle ground???

Share your insight .. how did you plan the best layed out trip to Disney. Did you still enjoy it knowing you had X amount of hours before dinner or whatever?

When I was little I remember my parents planning every detail of our trips and they weren't good trips. We had fun and all but now that my faily oesn't really plan we have A LOT more fun in disney. We book our dining reservations in advance but that's it. When booking the parks and other things so many things could effect you once you get there. First, the weather if it rains on one of your park days you can still go but you can't ride as many rides. Second, kids could always decide they want to do something longer or again, I belive this is what makes kids get upset in disney. From what I've taken note of kids can get upset when there parents pull them away from something to stay on schdual. My personal opinion is don't plan EVERYTHING.

I am in the same situation. It is a while until our trip so I have PLENTY of time to pour over plans. I KNOW our family and unless we have a pretty stable plan we tend to stand there going "Okay what do you want to do?" "I don't know, you pick." "I don't know, you pick." Until it becomes a disagreement. LOL

I know the kids will be excited and take a long time taking in everything so I plan to "plan" alot of empty time w/ suggestions of things to do. We LOVE to eat at restaurants so that will be our definates.
