Hey everyone. I was so excited earlier because my wedding was only 6 months away.
I still have 2 credit cards that would have been just about paid off by then but not in full (it would have been just 2 more months), and my fiance is having a REALLY hard time finding a job.
My mom claims she 'has a right to know' about where we are going to live and what are finances will be after we get married because she's afraid she's going to have to bail us out, and sort of talked us into getting married January 2010.
Now, I have a nice little career going and my fiance has certification in the medical field ... but I will have to go back to school, and he has joined a few temp agencies to help him but nothing yet.
I'm just disappointed. I don't want to wait ANOTHER 5 months at this point. I really don't want to get married in January, and I don't want to wait until September 2010 to get married, that's just TOO long for me right now.
I don't know what to do. Any suggestions? Is it REALLY that bad a thing to push it back another few months? Thanks. I'd appreciate it.

It happened to me as well! I got accepted to nursing school a year earlier than planned (thought id get waitlisted) and thus wedding has to wait until after I graduate, May 2010 or the following fall.
So for the same money, you can prob have a nicer hotel or room
.
Ours was for other reasons (dh freaked out
) but I do know about how hard it is to have your heart set on your wedding and then to have to change it. I'd make a list of all the positives about changing to January (less debt, lower crowds, cheaper rooms, etc) and post it somewhere in your house to remind you regularly. It'll still be here in no time!
Plus think of it this way, without the financial problems you will definently get the wedding you really want!! And if you don't want a January wedding this postpone it another month or two when it is Spring time and much prettier!
