So we're wanting to get our AP's from Costco when we arrive on Sunday. For you So. Residents, which Costco would be easiest (by taxi $) to get to from Park Vue Inn?

There's no Costco that will be a fun Taxi ride... a rental car even for one day may make sense (see if someone will let you drive the car to the hotel and drop it off locally). But if you prefer the cab to get you there it's not 50 miles.

Your closest location is 2 or 3 miles away at 11000 Garden Grove Blvd, Garden Grove and is more or less on the way from Long Beach or LAX airport. From John Wayne (SNA) there is a location in Fountain Valley and another in Tustin. All the locations are nice, large and just like what you'd expect from a Costco.

I'm not a SoCal resident, but every time we've gone to Disney we've stayed across from the park on Harbor Blvd. and found the Costco in Fullerton to be the quickest to get to. I believe it's also on Harbor Blvd. but I don't know what the taxi cost would be.

Thank you edit and dis-ted.
We won't be renting a car so I figured the taxi would be the easiest. I hope someone can give me an idea on the cost too. :)

May I ask why you are getting the AP's from Costco down there?
Are they cheaper?

When we went in October I took a taxi to the Fullerton Costco. If I remember correctly, with tip it cost me $40 total (the cab driver waited for me when I ran in and bought the AP's)

Thanks for that info.
I would offer to give you a ride to Costco, but you are arriving the day we leave, sorry :sad2:

Well that was a very nice offer....thank you. I hope you guys have a great time.

Depending on what time you fly in on sunday, have you concidered finding one between your airport and the hotel and stopping on your way rather than making a special trip out?

We are taking the Disney Express so making a stop on the way in just isn't an option unfortunately.

If the cab fair is around $40 does it make sense to do this just to get a $50 gc? Am I missing something?

As Dis-Ted said, the closest Costco is in Garden Grove, so that would be your best option by taxi, but the cheapest to get to by public transportation would be the one in Fullerton (mentioned by edit1) on Harbor Blvd just north of Orangethorpe. You can get there on the OCTA #43 bus - I think it's $1.50 each way.

Any idea how often the busses run?

In my case it did still make sense, we were purchasing 4 AP's so even after paying the cab we were still $160 ahead.

Of course...stupid me :crazy2: ...that makes a ton of sense. I knew I was missing something.
