So after careful planning our trip is scheduled, ticket price questions inside...

Why are you out of luck because you're from nowheresville..?..it can't be that bad, we're in TN too.

No, I wasn't exactly dissing TN but where we live is a good 2.5 hours from anything I would consider even a minor "city" like Memphis or Nashville. We have lived in Wichita and St Louis - there are sooo many things geared towards kids and learning for the mass public (Science Centers, Museums, etc..) We could go to Memphis but it is Pink Palace and the Zoo (not a bad one but we have been to others I found more....well, just more LOL) I really yearn to be in a more metropolitan area ;) I may have grown up in rural TN but I am not a country girl at heart :lmao: I do see benefits to small town life, though, and I appreciate that there are those who love our town for the very reasons I get "put out" with it. I just wish people here wanted "more" and were less complacent, that's all!

I get what you mean, but I didn't think you were downing TN. I just wasn't sure why being away from a happenin' place would cause issues about booking. We're on the other end of the state and I have lived in much smaller places. Larger or smaller each has its points--some good, some bad and some...well just some.... One thing I did find in smaller areas that more people tend to get together and do things together because everyone knows what everyone else is doing.

Where we are, there are alot of choices and everybody is always busy or making other plans. That's why I was so excited when I found about the individual enrollment. I even tried to get a group together at work (about 400 people) and no one will truly commit to anything.:confused3 But they always ask me about Disney and details...and then they comment on the cost...I just gave you a better value and you won't commit...?!?!? Oh, well...a few less people in line.;)

Oh, I only meant it might complicate participating in the program if we had to find a participating site to complete the class before going to Disney :goodvibes Then I visited the site and read the class description and decided that it was, after all, something you did once you got there.

I know what you mean. I am one of "those" people who decides I want to do something and I, literally, won't stop until I find a way. My DH can appreciate my results but sometimes finds my methods annoying ;) I think most people have a preconcieved notion of what they will or won't be able to do in life (and for a lot of people, when talking about Disney, they seem to say "We will NEVER be able to go." Well, not with that attitude.) But, like you, I give info and offer to help anyway. I can't tell you the vacations I have helped a co worker plan only to have her blow the money on new clothes and tvs then complain that she can't take her kids anywhere :headache:

We'll be back on Wed. I will post something about our experience with the class when we get back. Hopefully will have pics too.

To piggyback on this....so if we get 10 day non-expiring hoppers with water parks and more, we'd have 10 full theme park days, PLUS 10 water park days? So essentially 20 days? I wish I wouldv'e figured that out a LOT sooner. Would it be *allowed* to use like 5 theme park days one trip, and then another trip to use the water days? i am asking b/c we are going in Nov. 2011, and I don't plan to be able to do water parks then. But, in the long run, this could save us SO much money. I could see having the water park ticket days last for the next 3-4 trips this way! We go about every two years.

Thanks!
This post includes the assumption you have a ten day MYW ticket with both the Park Hopper and Water Park Fun and More (WPF&M) options.

Hopefully this will make it a little clearer. In effect you have two tickets with different privileges on one card. Everything expires 14 days after first use unless you have the no-expire (NE) option. If you have the NE option all the entitlements are good until they are used up. Even if you use up all your major park days, the WPF&M entries remain valid until used. (Note you do not have to use the days consecutively.)

You have ten days of access to the four major parks (AK, DHS, EC, MK), and may visit more than one major park on a single day without any extra charges. Without the Park Hopper option you can only go to one major park per day.

You have ten entries to the minor parks (BB, DQ, OT, TL, WWS). These may or may not be used on the same days as you go to the major parks. However, if you went to TL in the morning, Oak Trail* in the afternoon, and Disney Quest in the evening of one day you would have used three of the ten entries. (Note that leaving and returning to the same minor park on the same day does not use an extra entry.)

If you go to minor parks only on one day and do not go to a major park you do not use up one of your major park days.

If you were to go to a Water Park in the morning and then one of the major parks for the remainder of the day you would have used one minor park entry and one day of major park entry.

Note that with the MYW ticket unless you have the hopper option you can only go to one major park per day. Unless you have the WPF&M option you cannot go to a minor park without upgrading or purchasing a separate ticket.

*Oak Trail is a nine-hole "Executive" walking (no carts) golf course. Each person must have their own set of clubs and they can be rented for $15 per person if they don't bring their own.
