Why is it required that you have to be 18 to participate? What happened to winning it for fun? Why are prizes neccessary?

Maybe the mods/whoever can make up a version without the $$$ prizes, but like specially designed smilies or whatever for the under 18 set.

I wouldn't reading the younger doing challenges like their own version of musicals and virtual trips or even what they wished that VMK would add in.

:cheer2:

Ugh, I know, right?

I was so excited. And then the age limit. :sad2:

I honestly think it's ridiculous, I miss how WPASADI used to be.

I think its pretty much ridiculous to. I mean I'll be 18 in a matter of months, and I've been here longer than half of the members (probably more than that) and all I can do is watch?? :confused3

Being under 18, we can't even be in the audience!

And I followed those sleuth threads from the beginning, post by post, page by page. That's a LOT of reading. I am bummed that I can't participate.

Unfortunately it was not up to us about the age restriction. There are laws governing the types of prizes that we have to reward and the legal age that someone can be to receive them. :(

I'm sorry that you will be unable to participate in this round of WPASADI and I understand your frustrations. We are trying to come up with a solution for people that are not eligible to play (Non-US residents and underage) where you don't necessarily win a tangible prize, but you win something virtually that should be pretty cool.

We will keep you updated once we find out if we can do what we plan.

I know!

I spent morning after morning reading pages of posts!

And not to mention that one of the people I admire the most just had to be the Tag Fairy all along.

Oh wow! Keep up the good work!

IMHO yall should have to wait your turn just as the rest of us had to. Everyone has been in your shoes before. I do agree it's not fair for yall but your time will come.

bummer. even if i was 18 i wouldn't be able to play coz i'm british. maybe i'l get my cousin to sign up for me she's over 18 and lives in the states. although then she couldn't do the good standing member bit. maybe i'll get her to sign up for next time. :stir:

yeah and PrincessTiff like i said by time won't come coz i'm british. and now i could really rant but fear of getting into extreme trouble over it i won't

Sounds great "Ty" and "Tim" for people that would like to participate, but can't! :thumbsup2

Believe me, I feel your pain. At least the age limit is a self-correcting problem, whereas the residency requirement is a whole different ball of wax.

Contests and sweepstakes with real prizes are subject to very strict laws regarding who is eligible to win. If Disney itself can't work around them, what chance does any other entity?

I know they've been working very hard to include everyone who is interested in playing along, and I really appreciate their efforts!! I'm sure it will be fun, even though maybe not as much fun as if we had a chance at that week at the Swolphin!

When I was a teen, if we wanted to play WPASADI we had to do it thru the mail, and it took years. Our fake stars were Adrienne Barbeau and Telly Savalas, and our prizes were S&H green stamps. And...and...I forgot where I was going with this.
