Snow White & the 7 Dwarfs are Set Loose! ~ (NEW RING PICS & LINK TO TR!! 7/1!)

I haven't meant to neglect my pre trippie but I havent found the time to sit at the computer very much lately. I am in week 3 of school and already behind, that is how it always goes :rotfl2: DBF tells me I'm not allowed to do any updating unless I get caught up with my homework..he sounds like a teacher himself :lmao: Anyways, hello to the new readers out there, thanks for subscribing, I will have to sneak an update but shhh dont tell DBF! :thumbsup2

Where in Illinois do you live?? We must be some what close by... I am in Bensenville right now, I have also lived in Fox River Grove, Roselle, and St. Charles and should be moving to Bloomingdale in a month. :)
So we will be right next to Stratford Mall but are really close to Woodfield. Most of the time we avoid it because it's so crowded!! :scared1: Going there during X-mas is crazy!!!

Can't wait for more!!

-nat
Hi!! I live in Grayslake, its in Northern Illinois sorta near Gurnee. I know exactly what you mean about Woodfield. I go to school right across the street from it and I avoid it like the plauge. Thank you so much for reading!!

Congratulations on your placement :thumbsup2
I'm a teacher myself, I currently teach 1st grade :)

I just started reading your pre trip report and I think it's great :) I like those old pictures! :goodvibes I'm going to Disneyworld for the first time in may and I'm really looking forward to that!

I'm also thinking of starting a pre trip report here (I already have one on a Dutch website), but I'm not sure about the quality of my English! Well, I have some time to think about it :)
Thanks so much for all your sweet comments :goodvibes By the way, your english is wonderful you should start a pre trip report for sure. First grade is such a fun age because they are all excited about learning to read, it is too cute :)

WOO HOOO!! That is soo AWESOME!!! I am soo Happy for you!! Congrats! :cheer2:
Thank you!! Many people dont understand what the big deal is, they are like, "oh big deal its just a placement" but for me its the light at the end of the LONG college tunnel!! :yay:

OOh! I just caught up on your annoucement! Congratulations! 3 minutes away - that must be amazing! Don't be nervous .. if you dont like it you can always drive the 3 min to your house and SCREAM! :rotfl: Come back and pretrippie it up - we want to hear more! :goodvibes

Okay, finally an update! I took my own personal snow day yesterday and actually got pretty much all caught up with my school work...this is why I am able to update :thumbsup2 Enjoy it!!

Chapter 4: Disney Dining Meets DBF...
Since we had the house all reserved we now waited for the day (180 days prior) we could make ADR’s. (We had already planned on what restaurants we wanted to eat at: CRT, Crystal Palace, Chef Mickey’s, Alfredo’s, Hollywood & Vine, and Spirit of Aloha Dinner Show) We had all the dates set and even had a good idea of what times we wanted to eat so DBF FINALLY called Disney to make the ADR’s. (DBF does all the phone calls because he knows how to get what he wants, and I am such a pushover that I will just say “Thank You,” and hang up if they tell me something cannot be done…something I really need to work on). I will now flashback to 2005 when we tried to make ADR’s for CRT…Oh the nightmare that is Disney Dining ADR’s, well priority seating back then, but you get the idea :thumbsup2 …

2005:
DBF kept calling each week thinking maybe he could get lucky and get the ADR’s early instead of 90 days prior, (doesn’t hurt to try, right? ;) ) well he had no luck with that, but you gotta love the persistence  . He knew I wanted to eat in the castle more than anything else and was disappointed after the 2004 trip because we couldn’t get the reservations on time. So after like thousands of phone calls they kept telling him to call 90 days prior...and he listened. Finally 90 days prior finally came and DBF called first thing in the morning, Disney proceeded to tell him that they were booked to capacity, could not accommodate his request, and could not make his ADR. ..The conversation went something like this I believe…

Disney: Thank you for calling Disney Dining, how can I help you
DBF: I would like to make reservations for CRT on July (whatever the date was)
Disney: Sure I can help you with that, what resort are you staying at?
DBF: We are not staying on a Disney resort this time.
Disney: May I ask what your lodging plans are for your vacation?
DBF: We rented a house for a large group…may I make a reservation for CRT please?
Disney: I am sorry sir, but it looks like there is no availability for CRT for the date you requested.
And at this point DBF is very angry (and he doesn’t get angry often). He felt that because we stayed off property they told him that there were no seats available. I think he also felt that they were trying to sell him into staying at a resort, which we are not against, but when you have such a big group it is such a great money saver to rent a house. DBF explained, as calmly as he could, that he has called everyday to make these reservations and kept being told to call 90 days in advance, which he did, and now they were telling him there are absolutely no seats available…at this point he asked to speak to a manager. After telling the manager the situation, he/she kindly made our ADR’s for the date we wanted…turned out they weren’t booked to capacity after all, and all 9 of us got to sit at one table too. We never did get an answer as to why the first Cast Member said they were booked...
Florida2005039.jpg
See, we got in, they weren’t booked to capacity!

2007~~
Back to this trip… After that situation, DBF fully knew what to expect when calling, and he was not going to back down. Of course, he ran into another issue with Disney Dining. Bare with me now, because this can be kind of confusing….DBF called for our ADR’s 180 days before our first ADR but was told he could only make the one that was 180 days away because we weren’t staying at a Disney Resort. They told DBF he would have to call again each day which is 180 days away from an ADR (and DBF knew he would have to call from work which is not easy to do when they keep you on hold for many minutes!) Now of course, we knew that he could have called 180 days away from our last ADR, but seeing how things fill up quickly and because of 2005’s experience, we wanted to make them all at once and be done with them. Feeling cheated once again by the Disney Dining folks, good ol’ DBF asked to speak to a manager right away because he said he was sick and tired of being told he cannot make a certain reservation simply because he is not staying on property and even mentioned that this was the year of a million dreams, but they sure weren’t acting like it. :rotfl: He talked to a manager who was very friendly and kindly made all of our ADR’s at once, if they are going to accommodate us anyways, why do they make such a big ordeal when you first call?? I don’t get it. It took a good 45 minutes to an hour to get it all straightened out, but after the nightmare that is Disney Dining we had our ADR’s ! Next time DBF calls Disney Dining he said he will just ask to speak to a manager since he always has to go through one to get what he wants. I cannot wait for the day that we stay on property so that we can book or ADR’s with ease. Until then, we have DBF to do the dirty work. :sad2:

So, the house is reserved, the ADR’s are made (thank goodness), our tickets are bought, and our itinerary is made. There are a lot of things that we have never done/tried on this vacation, so it makes it even more exciting….

HERE IS THE PLAN

Day 1: MGM
– Dinner: Hollywood and Vine with Fantasmic Package, of course.
We just love Tower of Terror and Rock n Rollercoaster (I always sing along to the great Aerosmith songs! It helps me get through the ride!)

Day 2: Blizzard Beach (never been there, always max. capacity)
– Dinner: Chef Mickey’s (never been there either! Bashful and Dopey went earlier this year and they loved it) I have never been in the Contemporary Resort aside from when the monorail goes through it (too cool!) so I am looking forward to seeing another Disney Resort. (I guess I have to see them all before I can stay in one! Haha)

Day 3: Magic Kingdom (Our Anniversary)
– Dinner: Cinderella’s Royal Table
I am looking forward to this day because MK is my favorite park, Splash Mountain/Pirates of the Caribbean are 2 of my favorite rides, CRT is my favorite restaurant, and DBF is the love of my life! I am looking forward to finding a great & romantic spot to watch Wishes at the end our day! (any suggestions?)

Day 4: Typhoon Lagoon
– Dinner: Spirit of Aloha Dinner Show at the Poly. (this day was supposed to Animal Kingdom but Bashful (DBF’s Aunt) doesn’t like AK and seeing that it is her and Dopey’s anniversary we should accommodate them, after all I took upon myself to do Cindy’s Royal Table on our anniversary, and they Love the POLY so it all works out fine. I am just not a fan of using our water park days so close together, oh well.

Day 5: Epcot
– Dinner: Alfredo’s (never been there and I am excited to try my favorite pasta ever, fettuccini alfredo) Since I am Italian my family makes some kind of pasta every day for dinner (along with a 3-9 course meal). When I go on vacation with DBF’s family, I probably get pasta only 2-3 times, so I go through pasta withdrawls (I swear it is a real condition), Since they get so sick and tired of my complaining that I MUST have pasta, we made sure an Italian restaurant was on our list of ADR’s**

Day 6: Animal Kingdom – No Set Dinner Plans
I am very excited about riding Expedition Everest! In 2005, we saw it being built and it looked massive. I also love going on Dinosaur but I have yet to see the end of that ride because I always close my eyes and bury my head in DBF’s chest.

Florida2005283.jpg

Everest in 2005, they couldn’t hide that one from view, it is too big!

Day 7: Magic Kingdom – Dinner: Crystal Palace
We always take a trip to meet Pooh and Friends.
Florida2005176.jpg
Tigger is harmless!

After this magical part of our vacation we will be heading to Clearwater Beach for some fun in the sun and relaxation! Being from Illinois, the closest thing to a beach is Lake Michigan’s beaches (but I do not recommend swimming it in, some are closed most summers because of bacteria levels! ) Not that I really swim in the ocean, fish brushing up against my feet freak me out! I like to build sand castles and then swim the hotel’s pool.

I also want to make time to go to Downtown Disney and shop. I have never been to World of Disney or the Disney scrapbooking store (I cannot think of the name!) There is just so much I want to do on this trip, and I know we could never do it all! Oh well, I will just have to plan another trip!! Something else DBF and I are planning on doing is taking a romantic nighttime walk (after the Spirit of Aloha Dinner Show) from the Polynesian to the Grand Floridian and Wedding Pavilion. It is my dream to have a Disney Wedding and I want to see the Wedding Pavilion up close and personal and not just from the monorail. If/when DBF and I have a Disney Wedding I will want to stay at the GF for our Disneymoon….*dreaming*:cloud9: I have heard that the walk from the Poly. to GF/WP is very romantic, so I am looking forward to this part of our trip! This will be our alone couples time.

So that is the plan! I am very excited! Thanks for reading everyone!!

Your plans sound AMAZING! I cannot wait to hear all about the trip. I love all the pictures you've been adding! You guys are so cute! :goodvibes

Can't wait to read more of your pre-trip!

Well planning has started to die down a little bit...I have just been so busy with school: making lessons, teaching lessons, creating units...oh my, it is tiring. Last night DBF and I finally got to go out on a much needed date to my favorite place: THE BULLS GAME! (one of the players gave me his shirt he was wearing during warmups) :cloud9: I think DBF said we will going to the Disney Store to pickup more passes for his family today, so that is fun, maybe I'll buy some stuff for our JUNE trip!! Alright, need to stop procrastinating and get some school work done...I keep asking myself is it June Yet??? :sad2:

Hi! Thanks for reading! We always stay at a different hotel on the beach and we are actually still undecided because they keep closing or rehabing all the hotels we want to stay at. :sad2:

Oh how I have neglected my pre trippie. :guilty: I cant believe it is already MARCH! The time is flying and I feel we will be in HOT SUNNY BEAUTIFUL FLORIDA in no time! I have not been updating because I have been devoting my entire life to school and the oregon trail, :lmao: (i have to teach a unit on it) Since I am on my much needed spring break :yay: I have decided to do some updating since I actually have some time!! Thanks to all who have been reading!!! And on to Chapter 5 (i think)!

Chapter 5:The Obsessive Planning and MANY Computer Nerd Moments
I love to plan pretty much anything! I think that is why I will make a good teacher, because to be a teacher you need major organizational and planning skills. I have always been an obsessive planner, I do not know where it comes from or if it is even normal. I am so happy I found someone who love to plan as much as I do, but let’s me do most of the planning and helps me out when I need it…I love DBF! I have got to say, Disney planning is my favorite planning there is!! It is just so much fun and really helps build up the excitement before the vacation! My family doesnt understand (remember them? the non-disney people?) but I am sure all of you wonderful DIS people can relate to how much fun planning for Disney is!!!

Seeing that I can never have enough Disney and after reading some reviews on the DIS I decided to buy myself a late Christmas present and purchased the Deluxe Passporter, which is my very first guidebook to WDW. It shipped Media Mail so I was afraid it wouldn’t get here by June! Good news is that I received my Passporter! I love it, there is so much information in it. It is my new favorite toy, my new best friend. DBF is complaining that I spend more time with it than him. To tell you the truth, I think he secretly wants it for himself! I cannot wait to write in it and take it to Disney! I never thought I would need a guidebook, but there is so much information in it. I have to say that between the Passporter and you wonderful people on the DIS I am all set!
di10.jpg

My Passporter!

The next thing DBF and I did was make our itineraries to take to the parks which helped us so much in the past. What we do is figure out what rides/attractions we MUST see and we figure a basic plan of how to get around the parks. We know what to FastPass and what to wait in line for. We know in what vicinity to eat lunch, what time our ADR’s are for, and what time the parades and fireworks are at. Of course, we cannot predict the future so some of our planning is hit or miss, but I must say the last time we did this, we were right on and our plan worked wonderfully. Making these plans really helps cut down in the standing around and figuring out what to do time. (a problem we had back in 2004!)
TR001.jpg

These are all of the plans I made!
TR002.jpg

Here is our AK plan.

Caution: Major Computer Nerd Moment - I made the itineraries using PowerPoint (because I think it gives you the most freedom to move images around). I made a different slide for each day and then I printed them as handouts (2 per page), cut them out, and glued them to a 4 x 6 index card. I then laminated them with my new handy dandy personal laminator this way we can take them on water rides and when the torrential Florida rain comes each afternoon our itineraries will be safe! :thumbsup2 I showed my little creations to Doc (remember DBF’s mom) and she said to print some out for everyone! I am so proud that everyone will be using my cards! I decided to make everyone their own little vacation pack of useful things like itineraries, park maps (from Passporter because the ones from the parks are too big), and a packing checklist. I get way too excited about this stuff, I guess that is why I love office supply stores so much! DBF makes fun of me all the time because I will never pass on a trip to Staples! :rotfl2: I am so strange.

Caution: Another Computer Nerd Moment - Another way we planned for this trip is DBF made our official vacation website, which I would be happy to share if it didn’t have personal information on it, I will probably share it once our trip is over. This website includes a countdown clock, calendar, ADR’s, prices, and confirmation numbers (see why I cannot share it?). It is great because if any of DBF’s family has any questions about the vacation, they can just access it through the website, very smart…:surfweb:

Well this brings me to today, 95 days away from our Disney Adventure! :yay:We started counting down at some 185 days or something so the fact we are in the double digits is exciting!!! That is all for now, I have got some other short and sweet updates coming! As always thanks for reading!! :goodvibes

Wow, you are really an excellent planner

My boyfriend would think I'm obsessive if I started to make those day-planners

I already bought the Unofficial Guide to Disneyworld, but recently I've been looking at the Passporter as well.
What exactly is the difference between the normal and the deluxe version, besides the holder and the huge difference in price?

And you're in the double digits! That's great! I have only 55 days to go!

OMG, can I just say that I love the planners. It is totally me. I love the way you added the little characters too. Very Nice! :thumbsup2

Oh my!!!!! Your handouts are AMAZING!!!!! They are so cool-- they look professionally done! Where did you find all of your clipart?

Great job--- I LOVE them!

i think my boyfriend thinks i am nuts too! The difference between the deluxe and regular passporter is that the deluxe comes in a small binder which allows you to switch pages around more easily. The regular is a spiral and awfully bulky. I splurged and got the deluxe only because I didnt want to have to tear pages out of the spiral, I am way too anal like that!! :lmao: Oh yeah and it came with a pen! :rotfl2:

OMG, can I just say that I love the planners. It is totally me. I love the way you added the little characters too. Very Nice! :thumbsup2
Thank you! I am glad you like them, they surprisingly werent that hard to make! They really do save the day in Disney, it is great to have all of the day's info in one handy place :thumbsup2

Well well well look who decided to join the DIS! I converted him!!!!   So when am I gonna be a Disney :bride: and you a Disney :groom: he he he :lmao: :rotfl2: :rotfl:

Thanks for the compliments! I found the clipart at the best website for Disney clipart www.disneyclips.com - check it out it really is an amazing collection! :thumbsup2
