Snow White Does the Creep on the Trip that Almost Wasn't A Dec 11/Jan 12 TR 7/24 NEW

Yay, Coronado Springs!! :cool1: It's so beautiful there, isn't it? I wish I had more time to actually enjoy it, but that was my horrible migraine day, so it kind of put a damper on me having a good time there, and because of it, Brandon refuses to go back, so we'll see if I ever stay there again! :rotfl2:

The lobby and the Christmas decorations are gorgeous! So are the rooms there, they actually remind me a lot of deluxe rooms! (Not that I'm some expert, I've stayed in all of 2 deluxe resorts in my life! :rotfl:)

Yum, I love Kona! I always forget about that bread! It's amazing! I always have a hard time not filling up on the bread before meals too, it's all so good! Now I want to make a dinner ADR at Kona for the bread. It's been years since we have been there for dinner!

Oh no, you guys get into a fight at Disney? :scared1: Can't say that hasn't happened with Brandon and I a few times!

Ok, I posted this on marDgreen88's TR, but I've been a consistent lurker on both of ya'lls TRs. You both sound so much like me that it's hilarious to read everything! I mean, anyone who can reference Rocko's Modern Life and Bunnicula is alright in my book!! :)

My husband and I are super Disney fanatics too...he proposed at Disneyland and we honeymooned at the World. So if we ever bumped into you guys we would so be all crazy Disney excited with you...unlike that couple I think you mentioned in your TR that bolted off the monorail on a Disney mission!

So glad you guys got to stay somewhere better...we're staying at All Star Sports in July and it's our first time there so I'm not totally sure what to expect! :confused3

Looking forward to the rest of the TR!

Staying at all the Disney resorts is one of my goals too! That's so exciting that you got to check another resort off the list, especially since it wasn't part of the original plan!

Your room is beautiful! I've been so impressed with what I've seen of Coronado on the DIS, it looks so nice! Your pictures are gorgeous!!! Dang, you might have just made CSR bump higher up on my list!

HAHAHAHA. Um, I'm so glad there was a lack of dead wildebeests in the CSR lake. That probably would have been highly unsettling!

Burrito??? I really wish I knew what that was! I feel like we should all just go ahead of buy one of those toy food sets. For the future. Incase they stop making them...

I think I just laughed for a solid minute at "I am bread freak." HAHAHA. I am bread freak too. If a place I go to has bread or rolls, all I want is the bread or rolls. Entrees, what are those?? Beverley sounds like a gem. :goodvibes

How am I possibly this far behind on your trip report?! This is borderline blasphemous!

LOL photo bombing. Such a beautiful invention. I understand though... the Maelstrom vs FOOD!? Like... HOW ARE YOU EVEN SUPPOSED TO DECIDE!?!? :faint:

For that particular picture? Team Flash. :thumbsup2 The color is distributed better. He did look washed out in the no flash one. :p

---------------

Okay yeah I saw the update with your Momma. Hmm I must have just skipped the one before! Moving on.

---------------

And yup. I read about Le Cellier.

---------------

OKAY! New stuff.

Eating that much is never a problem. I would have done the same thing! :worship:

Awww I love watching Disney movies outside on the Big Screen! It's the best! :cloud9:

-------------

OH NO I'm so sorry about your foot. That's awful. That would frustrate me so much! :worried:

OH MY GOD I'm so happy you bought that Haunted Mansion figurine!! It's ridiculously cool! Getting souvenirs like that are awesome!

I HAVE THAT PINK SHIRT!! And I totally want that pillow! I couldn't bring myself to spend $20 either

Congrats on getting the resort switch!! I'm so happy they had availability for you! It probably made your trip SO much better!

------------

I wish I had the energy to watch that Modern Family episode! I've heard about it 3 times today!! When I come back from Disney I need to watch it!

YAY CORONADO!! (even though I already knew that haha) That resort is ridiculously beautiful - I love it SO MUCH! I didn't get to see it at Christmastime either so thanks for posting pictures! And that view is gorgeous!!

therussells08]PANCHITO'S! Try to say that and not yell it in a super excited Spanish accent. You can't do it. [/QUOTE] [QUOTE="therussells08 said:
It's BURRITO! Does everyone remember him, or am I just weird? I got so excited when I saw him, and I started being all creepy and petting him like he was real or something. I'm pretty sure I scared a couple of families away.

LAUGHING. OUT. LOUD. :lmao:

I want that food toy set. Seriously. I just considered buying it in my head. :rotfl:

I didn't even make it to the main pool on our trip when we stayed there! It's AWESOME!!

Was your waitress' name Sandy!? Because we totally might of had the same waitress!

I'm so glad that THE BREAD has become a disboard phenomenon. :lmao: And I'm happy that it lived up to your expectations! Your description of it all was just perfect. I'm so happy to have read that. YUM YUM YUM!

WOO! All caught up! I had to do that before I run off to Disney World tomorrow lalalala........ :cloud9:

YAY for the lovely new resort! That's awesome that you guys were able to switch (go Joni :thumbsup2)! I love the Haunted Mansion figurine, and I'm glad that you guys had a better evening! Kona looks delicious from what I've seen. Looking forward to your next update!

I hope you have a great weekend!

Still lurking and loving your trip reports - they're so entertaining! BTW - you're going to love the Beach Club!!

Wow, Coronado Springs looks amazing! I have never read much about it, but I think I just fell in love!! It is definitely on my list now. This update actually made me consider switching from Riverside in July...but I think my royal room will win for now!

I totally see the wildebeast!!

You have made me very curious about THE BREAD! I'm a bread lover myself...I always eat too much bread before my meal. But...is there every too much bread???!?

Oh noooo, a fight! I hope it was a little one!

Yay for upgrades, and yay for coroando springs! I have the same thing that I want to stay at as many different Disney resorts as possible, so far I've knocked off Pop, Poly, & CBR, doing AKL, and AOA later this year, along with one other value resort. Yay

The food for dinner sounds amazing, and then resort looks awesome! It's on my list haha!!

Woo Hoo! CSR! We've wandered that resort before and I really want to try it out sometime.

I also LOVED the bread at Kona! It was A-MAZING! If I didn't have an alcoholic beverage the size of my head to drink (Lapu Lapu) I would have eaten a whole loaf by myself. But the drink filled me up. I was almost sad about it!

Yay for CSR, that's on my list of resorts I want to stay at, what am I talking about, I want to stay at them all!:rotfl2:

Could the server's name at Kona been Reba? She was our slow server when we ate there a few years back. That's my issue, I love the food at Kona, but the service is sooooo slooooow!

I think I have to buy that play set for DS when we go in October.

Coronado is so lovely! I'm glad you were much happier there. Your view is SO beautiful. I could stare at that all day.

hahaha I ALWAYS say Panchitos like that in my head. Same with taquito or carnitas or anything like that. I'm a dork.

LOL it's so weird that burrito means "little donkey". Somehow it's not as appetizing to say "Hey, want to to Chipotle and eat some little donkeys?"

Yay Kona! I know what you mean about getting so pumped to try Disney food. It's so weird to obsess over something for months and then finally taste it but hey, that's me.

Great place that you guys ended up and the room is beautiful!

I am more than familiar with Burrito! It could be because I've seen the Three Caballeros a million times!!! I always knew Burrito would win....always.

I have to admit that I have never eaten at Kona for dinner, only for breakfast. Another thing to go on the list. :goodvibes

CS really is gorgeous! I'm sorry your time there was ruined by a migraine. :(

I can definitely see where the rooms would remind you of deluxe rooms, even though I've only stayed in one deluxe resort! The decorations are very understated, which I like!

Haha I seriously went and made an ADR for Kona in July after writing that last update. Just thinking about the bread made me have to have it again!

Yeah, that hardly ever happens to us, but it did on this coming day. It wasn't too bad and we got over it quickly, thank goodness!

Ok, I posted this on marDgreen88's TR, but I've been a consistent lurker on both of ya'lls TRs. You both sound so much like me that it's hilarious to read everything! I mean, anyone who can reference Rocko's Modern Life and Bunnicula is alright in my book!!

:welcome: Thanks for coming out of lurkdom! That's so cool that we are all so similar! :goodvibes

YAY for having a Disney obsessed hubby too! OMG that's amazing that he proposed at DL. I'm jealous! We honeymooned at WDW too, isn't it magical?! :lovestruc HAHA yay I'm glad you guys are open to making Disney friends too, unlike those monorail folks!

I hope you enjoy All Star Sports (how do you abbreviate that without spelling a bad word?) I've never stayed there but I have friends who have and they really enjoyed it. You should write a TR when you get back! When in July are you going?

Thanks! I hope you enjoy! :)

I was really excited to try another resort! Hmm..now how am I ever going to afford the Grand Floridian?!

CSR really is gorgeous! I highly recommend it!

HAHA seriously, a dead wildebeest would kind of ruin the atmosphere just a bit.

He was in the Three Caballeros, and he was also in some old Disney shorts. He is so cute!

Hahaha yeah you should probably do that, just in case... ;)

I. AM. BREAD FREAK. I just said that in the "This is Sparta" voice, and it was really funny. Try it.

Beverly was great. I wonder if she's on Twitter...

How am I possibly this far behind on your trip report?! This is borderline blasphemous!

I'm so jealous that you are currently in Disney World..eating Disney food...I'm pretty sure you just had Le Cellier for lunch, which makes me want to cry a little inside. Less than two months, less than two months...

Thanks! I was really excited about that figurine! It's sitting on my bookcase now! :goodvibes

AHHH you have the shirt too?! I'm so jealous! I need to find this shirt!

Yeah that pillow is precious but a bit pricey.

You must watch that Modern Family episode when you get back! It's really cute!

I'm glad you enjoyed the CSR pictures! They had really pretty Christmas decorations! :goodvibes

Hmmm...maybe she was Sandy? That sounds kind of familiar, actually!

Yes, THE BREAD is definitely a DISboard phenomenon. Kona should pay you some kind of commission for all the people you have sent their way.

I hope you're having a magical trip, even though I'm sure you are! I can't wait to hear all about it!

Thanks for reading along! :) I'm so excited for the Beach Club!

Haha the more I look at it the more I see it too!

You HAVE to try THE BREAD. It is so good! And to answer your question, no. There's no such thing! ;)

It wasn't too bad, thank goodness!

Wow, you're doing really well with the resorts you've stayed in! So far I've done POP, ASMo, CSR, POFQ, CBR, and AKL! Soon I'll add Beach Club to that list!

It's SO good! :goodvibes

Woo Hoo!

I was so impressed with CSR! It's really gorgeous!

Haha I can totally understand why the Lapu Lapu filled you up! I had one of those in December 2010 and it was almost impossible to drink the whole thing!

Haha that's how I am too! :goodvibes

Hmm...I dunno...maybe! I have heard so many reviews talking about the slow service at Kona! Their food is so good, they need to get their act together with the service!

You should! Then you can play with it too! ;)

Coronado is so lovely! I'm glad you were much happier there. Your view is SO beautiful. I could stare at that all day.

Yay Kona! I know what you mean about getting so pumped to try Disney food. It's so weird to obsess over something for months and then finally taste it but hey, that's me.

We were so much happier there! :goodvibes Isn't that view amazing? I was thrilled!

I'm the exact same way! Anytime we go to Taco Bell I end up embarassing John because I go straight Cheech Marin when I walk in the door.

I know what you mean. The weird thing is I love burritos, so I eat them all the time without really thinking about that!

That's me too! I always think about the people who go to Disney who don't plan years in advance and obsess over everything like we DISers do, and I wonder if things like eating THE BREAD is as climactic for them as it is for us. There's no way it can be. They're probably just like, "Hm, good bread."

:goodvibes

Thanks! :) We were really happy with it!

Haha I love Burrito! I'm glad someone else remembered him! :goodvibes

You should definitely try it sometime for dinner! THE BREAD makes it one of the best!

Hi everyone! Happy Mother's Day to all you moms out there! I hope everyone has had a magical weekend! It's been a busy one around here! Friday night I had to chaperon the prom for my school, and John surprised me by dressing up and going with me!

27998fce.jpg

We didn't get to go to my senior prom together because he was already in the Army, so we joked that we finally got to go to our prom!

Today I had my mom and sister over for Mother's Day! Since our Disney trip is kind of my mom's presents for Mother's Day and her birthday I didn't do much, but I did stick to a nice Disney theme!

6857b118.jpg

In case you're wondering, those are macadamia nut pancakes from Kona! I found the recipe on allears.net and they came out GREAT!

I couldn't resist getting her a little gift, so I bought her a Jim Shore of her favorite dwarf, Sneezy, and a Jack Sparrow card! The inside of the card said, "...especially for all the times you had to wipe my poop deck!" HAHAHA. I thought that was hilarious. As you can see, I prefer a real classy brand of humor.

885a004d.jpg

She loved everything, and it made her even more excited to go to Disney soon!

Alright, on with the update!

December 31, 2011

John and I had so much luck in December 2010 when we went to Animal Kingdom on New Years Eve that we decided to do it again this year! They had EMH that morning, so we were up bright and early and out the door!

...I just so happened to be out the door without my camera, so once I got in the car John ran back to the room to grab it for me!

On the way back he was feeling photogenic, I suppose!

DSCN0329.jpg

I was so excited to be going to AK, so I took this happy face picture in the car!

DSCN0330.jpg

Unfortunately it was super blurry.

DSCN0331.jpg

Of course THAT would be the picture that wasn't blurry. I'm weird.

If you remember from my first TR, when we went to AK on New Years Eve in 2010 we were one of the very first people there, and we actually got to park on the grass in front of the park! We were really proud of that, so we were hoping it would happen again this year. So, did it?

Yep! We were probably one of the first ten cars to arrive! Yippeee!

DSCN0332.jpg

DSCN0333.jpg

We actually ended up arriving about 20 minutes after the EMH had already started, so that place must have been completely empty when they first opened! When we got inside we realize that Kilimanjaro Safaris didn't open for about half an hour, so we casually made our way over to Expedition Everest for an early morning ride!

DSCN0334.jpg

Hello, Tree of Life!

Unfortunately my foot was still hurting REALLY badly, so I had to take it slow. By this point I was totally over this whole "being in pain in Disney" thing, and I was feeling really frustrated. However, we finally made it over to EE and had a wonderful ride! We walked right on, then when we got off we grabbed some FPs that would allow us to come back in less than an hour!

By the time I managed to limp over to Africa it was time for Kilimanjaro Safaris to open!

DSCN0338.jpg

Alright, early morning safari pictures! Here we go!

DSCN0345.jpg

DSCN0350.jpg

Hungry hungry hippos!

DSCN0353.jpg

Crikey!

DSCN0354.jpg

The baobab tree! So I'm a total nerd and up until recently I completely believed that tree was real. WRONG. What's next...you're going to tell me the termite mounds and elephant tusk marks in the clay are fake too?!

DSCN0356.jpg

Check out that sucker's horns. Antlers? Whatever.

DSCN0359.jpg

The one with twisty antlers!

DSCN0362.jpg

Elephants!! I love them! I'm not sure if I've ever told this story, but I rode on an elephant's back at the fair once. It wasn't very fun...it was actually quite terrifying. I kept picturing myself falling off and getting trampled, and totally deserving it because that poor creature did not deserve to be hauling people around at the fair. They have really cool skin, though, and this really long hair that I didn't expect to see until I got up close.

DSCN0366.jpg

Flamingoes!

DSCN0367.jpg

WILDEBEEST! And the living kind, not the dead kind floating in the water at CSR!

We were having lots of luck, we even saw the white rhinos!

DSCN0370.jpg

And a VERY blurry cheetah!

DSCN0372.jpg

We saw the cutest thing ever next! There were these three deer-like creatures. Two were short with normal antlers and one was tall with twisty antlers. Well, it looked like Shortie 1 and Shortie 2 were playing around with Mr. Twisty, and Mr. Twisty kept chasing them around. It was adorable.

DSCN0374.jpg

Here's a video of the occurrence: (Click!)

So cute! Unless, of course, they weren't playing, in which case it's kind of frightening for Shortie 1 and 2. I wouldn't want to be poked with those twisty antlers.

Up next we saw...

DSCN0377.jpg

Nala! Or Sarabi? I dunno, it's hard to tell from a distance.

Next we came around a curve and there was some animal off to the left um..doing his business. Everyone in the vehicle got super excited like it was the funniest thing they'd ever seen, so while they were losing their minds over animal poop John spotted these two little guys fighting with each other! (Another video! Click!) You can hear the people "oohing" and "ahhing" over the animal taking a poop. And I thought I was weird!

Something was up with the deer-creatures that day. They were just moody, I guess. This could be foreshadowing for the argument John and I would have later...we must have picked up on the deer-creature aura. Very hostile.

Anyway, overall we had a pretty good safari! When we got off I could not believe how badly my foot was hurting, though. Something had to be done!

Up Next: The argument, which I now refer to as "The Ibuprofen Affair". Stay tuned!

We were at AK on NYE too. Just a bit later than you were. We were still sleeping off our very late plane ride at that time. :faint:

How sweet of your husband to dress up and escort you to prom. :goodvibes

My husband loves the baobab tree! We must have at least ten pictures of it from our last trip, and everytime he shows photos to our friends he'll explain the meaning of the tree and how it's know as the "upside down tree." I don't have the heart to tell him it's not real.

How sweet of him to dress up and go with you!!!

I'm sorry things turned sour as the day went on. :( It's no fun to argue on vacation. And your poor foot. :(

Oh yay! Coronado! So glad you guys were able to switch resorts! I've never seen Coronado, so that may be a visit on our upcoming trip!! :)

OMG I love that bread too!!! It is sooooo good!!!

AWWWW That is so cute about John being your date to the prom! :goodvibes I love that!!

I love the Mother's Day card! :rotfl2: Too funny!!

How cool you were the first few in AK! That's always so nice!!
