Snow White Does the Creep on the Trip that Almost Wasn't A Dec 11/Jan 12 TR 7/24 NEW

Aaaaand now I'm craving an ice cream sundae! :)

Awesome update. I'm eating at Sci-Fi in May for the first time in YEARS, so I was super happy to see a glowing review! I feel like I see mixed reviews about the food, but the atmosphere can't be beat! My fiance is going to be ALL OVER that picnic burger.

Dang, good movie day for you! Tangled and now Up! Love it. Dug is hilarious! "It's funny because the squirrel gets dead." :rotfl:

Well darn, I was close! If you had written your June Sci-Fi update like, last week, I totally would have (maybe) guessed it right. Hahha oh well.

I feel sorry for the people that don't really know all the important things about Disney, but I think the week between Christmas and New Year, it should be obvious that your party of 7 is gonna have a hard time getting a table. Hahha we really should get them on board! Too funny!

OH MY GOSH. What is that beast of a burger? Wow. That's insane! It looks like there are four hotdogs on that bad boy.

Wasn't the Muppets excellent? Love that movie! I bought it the day it came out but I still haven't had time to watch it! Ugh. MUST. Okay I'm determined to guess right this time... MAYBE... yall were going to see the Osborne Lights? You're in the general area... hmmm... ???

How cool that Sci Fi is one of your traditions! We have so many of them! OMG that burger looks delish! Who would've thought hotdog ON the hamburger?? :confused3 Not me :)

I love how everyone has their Disney traditions! It makes all of our trips so magical! :goodvibes Seriously, that burger was sheer brilliance! I want one right now! :lovestruc

That burger looks heavenly! It's the kind of thing that is so wrong that it's right! I would have felt bad about the girl not having the burger that she ordered. That would have been depressing.

I love the new Muppet movie too! I have to go get that movie, huge Muppets fan here. Do do do do do!

Haha, yes, it's definitely so wrong it's right! :rotfl: I felt really bad for her. I wish she would've said something so she could get the burger she wanted! Poor girl!

I told John I want the new movie for my birthday! I want the "Wocka Wocka" edition though, so I can have the soundtrack too! :thumbsup2

Haha sorry to make you crave a sundae! I kind of want one now too! :lmao:

YAY! I hope you love Sci Fi as much as I do! The food is definitely not the best I've had in Disney, but it's still really good, and the atmosphere makes it unbeatable! :goodvibes

Seriously, I watched some great ones today! Those are two of my favorites! Haha awww Dug. He's so cute! :lovestruc

You were close! 50's is our other favorite restaurant in DHS! :goodvibes

Seriously, I don't see where they think that would work. I guess a first trip to WDW could be pretty shocking for someone who doesn't realize you need to make those reservations like MONTHS in advance. :confused3 Thank God for the DIS!

Haha it was SO good! I think it was like two hotdogs cut in half, but it was still an insane amount of meat on one burger. YUMMM I want one right now... :cloud9:

YES! I love the Muppets. That movie was wonderful. I've decided that I'm a very manly Muppet. John says he's a Muppet of a man.

That sounds like a pretty good guess... :rolleyes1

Do you need a break from modern living? Do you long to shed your weary load? If your nerves are raw and your brain is fried just grab a friend and take a ride together upon the open road!

We interrupt your regularly scheduled TR to bring you information about our NEXT DISNEY WORLD VACATION!

WALLE.gif

I hope you all don’t mind me hijacking my own TR every now and again for some PTR updates! Right now I just wanted to acknowledge the fact that I am indeed going to Disney again soon and give you some info on the basics!

First and foremost, the dates! We will be in Disney July 8- July 15. That’s our plan as of right now. I’m working on convincing John to get there on the 7th, so I’ll keep you updated on that! So, where will we be staying?

Well, it’s somewhere we’ve never stayed before, it’s a deluxe resort, and it’s within walking distance of two parks!

It’s also been on my ticker for almost a month, so I guess there’s no secret. But just in case you didn’t notice my ticker, I’ll keep doing this dramatic build up…

*drumroll*

BeachClub.jpg

The Beach Club!

Thanks to the amazingly generous discounts for military personnel we are actually getting to stay at one of my dream resorts! We are so thrilled to be staying here and enjoying all of the amenities that go along with it, like walking to Epcot (and possibly DHS) and swimming in Stormalong Bay! We figured this would be a perfect trip to celebrate both our 4th wedding anniversary and our 10th trip to Disney! :woohoo:

Once again it will be just John and me on this glorious vacation, which is fine by us! We have amazing trips with just the two of us, so if it ain't broke, don't fix it!

DSCN0193.jpg

(You'll be seeing that picture again in like three updates. Sorry about that. :rolleyes1)

As of right now we are officially 105 days away from our vacation. I plan on updating this mini-PTR again when we reach 99 days so we can do a DOUBLE DIGIT DANCE!

Expect it to look something like this:

TimonandPumbaa.gif

Until then, we now return to our regularly scheduled programming. ENJOY! :mickeyjum

*Thanks to tumblr for these precious gifs. If you want the link, PM me. The tumblr name is not DIS-appropriate.

How awesome! And staying at the Beach Club. :goodvibes Perfect location for sure. Make sure you guys eat at Beaches and Cream.

That burger does sound amazing!! I'll have to put a hot dog on my burger sometime!

Congrats on a new trip to plan!!!

Yayyyyy!!!! Another Disney trip!!!!!!! :cool1: I'm so excited to follow along on with your planning. :)

Yay, Sci Fi! I love that place! I've been looking for a good time to go back, but I can never fit it in! If we go in the Fall, we're definitely going to Sci Fi! I need to try some of the flavored soda, it sounds awesome! The one time we did go there, I got an Oreo milkshake, which was great, but it's weird drinking a milkshake as a beverage while you're eating! :rotfl:

I've only seen bits and pieces of Phineas and Ferb too, and it's cute, but I really love Perry, he's so cute! :lovestruc

I'm SO happy you're staying at the Beach Club on your next trip! You are going to love it! :dance3:

Again... YAY SCI FI!!!!!!!!!!!! I loooooove their cherry syrup as well, but I always get the soda AND a milkshake. Personally, I think all meals should begin with ice cream.

Ah, that picnic burger looks GOOD.

I've never seen any of our Sci Fi checks say that before! That is so cute. I love details like that. Oh Disney.

I also finally watched The Muppets loved it so much too! I agree that they stayed true to the classic comedy of the muppets but still made it fresh and exciting. I want to show it to my young cousins and hope they get it!

YAY, YOUR 10TH TRIP!! My next trip will be my 10th as well. And I also love that you announced it starting with a song from A Goofy Movie... I love that flawless masterpiece! And of course... fabulous gifs!! SO excited for you. I want to stay at BC so badly. Epcot is SO insanely close and it's such a nice walk. :cloud9: Sigh. You're gonna have the best trip ever.

Your burger and sundae look delicious! The update in your June '11 TR and here have definitely made me more excited for Sci-Fi on our trip!

The Nikon Coolpix is one of the cameras we've been looking at -- thanks for the review! :goodvibes I like how it's small and user friendly (I tested one at the store a few days ago). DH is leaning toward a DSLR, so there's still a lot of research to be done.

HOORAY for the Beach Club! I'm so excited for you guys! The Military Salute is pretty awesome for making dream hotel stays possible :woohoo: I'm looking forward to reading about that trip now too!

I absolutely love being within walking distance from Epcot and DHS -- just LOVE it. We have stayed at the Beach Club and it was delightful :cloud9:

For the past several years we have stayed at The Dolphin -- they have a special teacher rate that makes the boardwalk area affordable for my son and I and it just MAKES our trips! He loves the counter service at Morocco and being able to just stroll over there for dinner is such a delight! We also love taking the bus to magic kingdom for rope drop and then being able to monorail back to Epcot at lunch time -- my favorite first day :goodvibes

Loving your updates, both old and new. Hope you are having a good school year... Is John currently deployed? I am so sorry to say I have lost track :-( either way I hope you are both well and safe and I truly thank-you both for your service. I am so very glad that Disney has the great discounts for military personnel -- and I am delighted you share your adventures with the rest of us!

As for the picnic burger I am afraid I will have to pass :scared1: I don't eat meat --but I am glad you enjoyed it! I am happy to repor that the veggie burgers there are very tasty!

Looking forward to the next installment !

Wow! Been away for a few hours and all kinds of things happen! :) First of all, that hamburger/hotdog combo looks out of this world! That will have to be on the list for a future dining experience (hear that emma212010?) ;) AND another Disney trip?!? WOOHOO! Good for you! I LOVE the Beach Club - We love being so close to DHS and Epcot! Talk about convenient! And the Boardwalk is also so much fun - have you tried any of the restaurants at the Dolphin or Swan? They're really good - we've stayed at the Dolphin using the teacher discount which is always pretty substantial! Can't wait to hear more about this trip and THEN your next! Yay! :goodvibes

Let my procrastination continue.... MORE UPDATES YAYAYAY

Between your two trip reports I am REALLY missing sci-fi now. Ahhh I love that place SO MUCH.

therussells08 said:
We need to get these people on board with the DIS, I’m telling ya. Heh..on board. See what I did there?

I am laughing SO hard at this right now... not only because it's a brilliant pun, but some of my theatre friends at college say "See what I did there?" in this John Lennon accent whenever they make a pun. Hahaha full circle. So funny. :rotfl:

That picnic burger has to be exceptionally healthy. Yet, I'm still tempted to order it.

I'm so glad you liked the muppets movie! I was in love when I saw it. SO PERFECT :lovestruc

Oh my goodness, that Timon and Pumbaa picture is cracking me up!

Have I mentioned how insanely jealous I am that yall are staying at the BEACH CLUB? Oh my gosh my dream. DREAM. I have a feeling yall are gonna have an amazing time! How exciting to be celebrating your 4th anniversary! And DANG, 10th trip! Um, this summer will be my 4th... I'm getting there? :rotfl:

Yay, I'm subbing in too! Now I just have to find the time to catch up on both of your TRs!

Congrats on your upcoming trip (perfect 10! There's a gymnastics joke in there somewhere...)! Everyone seems to be staying at the Beach Club on their upcoming trip - I'm so jealous!

How awesome! And staying at the Beach Club. :goodvibes Perfect location for sure. Make sure you guys eat at Beaches and Cream.

Thanks! I'm so excited to stay at Beach Club! :goodvibes Oh, and we will definitely be going to Beaches and Cream! We plan on attempting the Kitchen Sink! ;)

That burger does sound amazing!! I'll have to put a hot dog on my burger sometime!

Congrats on a new trip to plan!!!

Seriously, I would recommend it! It was delicious!

Thanks! :) We are so excited!

Yes! I hope you can go back to Sci Fi in the fall...it's so good! I agree, I'm not a big fan of having a milkshake as my drink when eating. I need something more liguidy!

Perry is really cute. I have a student who wears a Perry shirt almost every day! She loves him! :goodvibes

Again... YAY SCI FI!!!!!!!!!!!! I loooooove their cherry syrup as well, but I always get the soda AND a milkshake. Personally, I think all meals should begin with ice cream.

Haha I'm on Sci Fi overload in my TRs! :rotfl: I like your philosophy about a meal beginning with icecream!

I don't think I've ever had a check say that either. It's a very cute touch!

I hope your cousins like the Muppets! I feel like it's one of those things like Tangled that has humor for adults and kids! :goodvibes

That's awesome that your next trip is your 10th too! :thumbsup2 HAHA YES! A Goofy Movie is such a flawless masterpiece. I am obsessed with that movie! :lovestruc Thank you so much! I cannot believe we're actually staying at Beach Club! I'm so excited!

No problem! :) I'm happy to share my experience with it. It's definitely not the quality of a DSLR, but it's a nicer quality P&S. Let me know what you end up with! :)

Thank you! We are so excited too! Those military discounts are amazing...Disney is really good to the military folks! :goodvibes

Yay! I'm so glad to hear how much you enjoy Beach Club! How long would you say it takes to walk to DHS? I am trying to figure out if it's reasonable in the July heat!

Those sound like magical trips for you and your son staying at the Dolphin! Being at a resort with convenient transportation makes all the difference! :goodvibes

Thank you so much for your kind words! I am having a wonderful school year- I can't believe we're already in our last quarter! John is not currently deployed, and thankfully he won't be deploying again until September or October so we still have quite a bit of time. Disney is great to military folks, thank goodness! :) I'm so glad I can share our adventures with you!

Haha, yeah I definitely wouldn't recommend the picnic burger to a vegetarian! I'm glad to hear that you enjoy the veggie burgers though! ;)

Believe it or not, we've never been to the Boardwalk or Swan & Dolphin! We need to try some of those places on this trip! :goodvibes

That's so funny! I love it when people say things that I joke about a lot! It makes it even funnier! :goodvibes

Yes, it's very healthy. Just like all Disney food, it's fat free! ;) It is SO good!

Yes!! The Muppets movie is amazing! :lovestruc

Oh my goodness, that Timon and Pumbaa picture is cracking me up!

Thank you!! Haha hopefully this trip will be a perfect 10! I can't wait to stay at Beach Club! :woohoo:

Before I update I just have to tell y’all about this craziness: a guy that I went to high school with matched 5 out of 6 lottery numbers yesterday and won $1,000,000! Can you believe that?! John used to be really good friends with him and he said he drank Yoo Hoos all the time. Can you imagine how many Yoo Hoos he could buy with $1,000,000?! That's a whole lot of chocolate drink!

Okay onto the update! When I left off we were finishing up our dinner at Sci Fi and making our way to…

DSCN0129.jpg

The Osborne Family Spectacle of Dancing Lights! AKA- a little slice of Christmas heaven. I could seriously stand under those lights all night, which is usually what I attempt to do until John drags me away from them. They are so magical and wonderful and perfect and AMAZING. *Sigh* I want to see them right now.

DSCN0130.jpg

Mickey Mouse and Santa Claus?? Be still my heart.

DSCN0131.jpg

Hidden Mickey spotting!

DSCN0132.jpg

SANTA MICKEY. Too much to handle.

DSCN0133.jpg

I was loving the lights and the atmosphere so much that I just had to stop and pose for a picture.

DSCN0134.jpg

It wasn’t until I had raced over to make sure I didn’t look too nerdy in the picture that I realized the unthinkable had happened…I was the victim of a PHOTOBOMB. What?! How does this happen?! If you’re reading along on my June 2011 TR you will know that I am a little bit obsessed with photobombing, and I consider myself an expert on the subject, and here I had been foiled by a child! Look at him, just LOOK AT HIM. He thinks he’s so cool, striking his little thug life pose and everything…ahhh, who am I kidding?! He is cool! Well played, tiny photobomber, well played. I tried to spot him in the crowd, but he had already disappeared into the night. Until we meet again…

I wanted to take another picture sans heathen child, but I just couldn’t stop laughing long enough for it to look decent.

DSCN0135.jpg

Ready for the onslaught of Osborne lights to continue? Good!

DSCN0137.jpg

DSCN0138.jpg

DSCN0139.jpg

YAY happy times! Haha, except John looks like he’s never been more miserable in his life. I promise you all I am not holding my husband against his will on these trips, he just tends to forget to smile in pictures. (For some reason Microsoft Word is telling me the phrase “husband against his will” is grammatically incorrect, and it wants me to replace it with “husbands.” Sorry Word, but I only have one husband. I’m not a polygamist, sheesh.)

While we were soaking up the Christmas spirit John went and bought me a hot apple cider in a souvenir mug. It was delicious and added to the cozy ambiance perfectly!

And now for your viewing pleasure, here’s a video of the lights dancing! Clicky clicky!

After John finally managed to haul me away from the lights, we decided it was high time we went on a ride! The park was pretty packed, so we settled for one of the less crowded (but still fun) attractions!

DSCN0145.jpg

The Great Movie Ride! I was unhappy that we once again got the gangster, so I decided to take a picture of when the Anubis gem turned him into a skeleton! Muah ha ha! I’m just kidding… I still love that ride even when I do get the gangster. It’s a classic.

After our journey through the movies we were ready to go check out another one of my favorite un-crowded DHS spots!

DSCN0147.jpg

I just love One Man’s Dream, and I feel like people don’t give it the attention it deserves. I mean, I get that it’s not as thrilling as RnRc or TSM, but still…I think everyone that goes to Disney should see it just once. I mean after all, it’s all about Walt, and without him there would be no Disney World!

DSCN0148.jpg

John loves all of the models in here!

DSCN0149.jpg

THE FLORIDA PROJECT!

DSCN0150.jpg

Hello there, scary Abraham Lincoln!

DSCN0151.jpg

Beautiful!

DSCN0153.jpg

DSCN0154.jpg

I was intrigued by the tiny figurines wandering around the Tree of Life, so I decided to get creepy with my zoom lens again and see how close I could get to them!

DSCN0155.jpg

After our adventure with Walt and the creepy early-Disneyland characters John and I were both getting really tired. The effects of all that traveling were still getting to us, and I had a weird throbbing pain in one of my feet because I hadn’t adjusted to all the walking yet. I had been texting Jess (DisneyFreak508), who was also in Disney with her family at this time, about potentially meeting up, but I was SO tired. Ugh, I’m such a weakling! Anyway, Jess and I vowed to meet up later in the week and John and I decided to head back to the resort. Bah, so much for Extra Magic Hours!

On our way out we stopped in one more shop so I could get a sweatshirt to have for the rest of the trip. It was a very warm evening, but just in case it got colder later on in the week I didn’t want to end up like in 2010 when I almost froze to death!

When we got back to ASMo we were both exhausted but also hungry! You guys know how it is- at Disney World something happens to our appetites which requires that we eat full meals approximately every hour. The food court was still open so we decided to grab a late night snack.

Sleepy John!

DSCN0156.jpg

John decided to get a personal pizza and I went with breadsticks and marinara sauce.

DSCN0158.jpg

DSCN0157.jpg

Ok so here’s the story of my worst dining experience of this trip. First of all, the breadsticks were gross. They tasted like they weren’t cooked completely so they were really chewy and kind of moist on the inside, but not in a good way. Unfortunately this was NOT the worst part. The worst part was the marinara sauce. It tasted good, but it had long stringy strips of something in it (I dunno, tomatoes?) and I got CHOKED on one. I’m not talking like, “*cough cough* all better now” choking. I’m talking straight up grabbing my throat and pounding on the table Rescue 911 choking. I was able to cough up the murderous marinara before someone had to give me the Heimlich, but it made my eyes water like crazy and after that my throat was on fire. Not to mention I was extremely embarrassed. John did that thing where I scared him so bad that he got irrationally angry, so he started ranting about how I need to chew my food better and how they need to put that marinara sauce in a blender. I decided then that it was time for both of us to get some sleep, so we headed to the room.

My near death experience had taken a lot out of me, so I crawled under the covers and was asleep almost instantly. Before I fell asleep, though, I did take a picture of the souvenirs I had bought that day!

DSCN0160.jpg

Up Next: A magical morning at the Magic Kingdom! Stay tuned!

EVERYBODY DANCE NOW!

oliver.gif

Can we just stop for a moment and recognize the awesomeness that is Oliver and Company? Disney magic + a twist on a Charles Dickens classic + BILLY FREAKING JOEL = total perfection. :lovestruc Seriously, this is one of the best in my opinion and it doesn’t get nearly enough attention.

Aaaanyway, why are we dancing with little Oliver and the guy with the 80s pants, you ask? Because we are down to……

99 DAYS UNTIL OUR TRIP!!!!

:dance3::dance3::dance3::dance3::dance3:

Awwwwww yeah! Double digit dance! Oh yeah, oh yeah...

Wait a minute, what’s this?! It’s midnight! That means….

98 DAYS!!!!!!!!

:hyper:

I love it! In 98 days I will be home! It seems like a really long time from now, but I know how quickly it will go!

Now that we are celebrating the double digits, I’ll reveal a little bit more about our trip. Here we go! So the Beach Club was my first piece of exciting news. My next piece is that we will be doing the DELUXE DINING PLAN again! Now if you remember my December 2010 TR, we had a tough time using all of our credits with the DxDP, but this time we have it all planned out! We are so excited to be able to enjoy all of our favorites, plus some next experiences, and some signature dining!

I’ve made almost all of our ADRs, and I will be sharing those in my next PTR update! However, I'm still trying to fill a few meal spots. So here's my question for my lovely readers: What is your #1 MUST DO restaurant on every trip? Which foods can you not live without? I want to hear about all of your favorites so I can make the best choices for every meal! Thank you in advance for your advice and help!

And keep doing the double digit dance!! :woohoo:

Yay for double digits! :dance3: :dance3:

Honestly, my favorite restaurant is Crystal Palace. I haven't been to many TS restaurants, though. I really enjoyed LTT as well, and I thought Tony's was good, but they seem to be hit or miss.

I'd definitely look into the signatures. Narcoossee's is supposed to be fabulous. Also, the dinner shows!
