Here is the next update.....
On our DHS day, we had met up with our extended family and DH and his Brother planned to go parasailing in the morning at Sammy Duvalls in the Contemporary resort. After Parasailing, we would be off to DHS!
On the way to the Contemporary, we all realized we were starving and we didn't have any ADR's planned until dinner. So, I knew that the contempoarary had contempo cafe in it, so we opted to stop there for breakfast.
Here we are approaching the contempoary resort! I just love this resort! I really hope to stay here 1 day....
After DH and his brother went parasailing.....
We headed upstairs to the contempo cafe. Please forgive me as today is the day I kept forgeting to take food pics. I have most for dinner but missed some.
We entered the short line and realized that we had to order our food off the screens that they had lined up along the wall. It was fairly easy to use the touch screens and all you had to do with print out the receipt and they would start making your food.
Because there were no signs though, I automatically assumed I had to take the ticket up to the servers. Instead, someone finally informed me that I had to go pick out the drinks, then pay and then return to the area where they prepare the food. This was very confusing and I wish they had a simpler way of doing things here.
I had eggs with bacon and a orange juice.
DH had french toast with sausage and DD had waffles with bacon.
Everyone else got waffles or eggs and bacon as well.
Cost wise, I remember it costing around $20 for the 3 of us.
So, how was the food? Unfortunately, not that great. The bacon was tough and the eggs were just plain scrambled eggs, nothing special.
DD loves bacon and she didn't even want to eat it and DH really really likes french toast and he said it was just ok. He did not finish it. I forced myself to eat my bacon and ate the plain eggs just so I wouldn't be starving.
Because of the confusion and the just ok food, I doubt we will be returning here.

After breakfast we made our way to DHS. It was very crowded and hot. We planned on skipping lunch since we had breakfast and had an ADR for dinner at the Sci Fi. So, to hold us over, we got some snacks at a small stand on sunset Blvd. while waiting to ride Tower of terror.
We all got some pretzels and frozen lemonades. So good on a hot day!
For dinner, we had ADR's at the Sci Fi. I had been wanting to eat here for years so I was so excited.
DS had fallen asleep in his stroller about 20 minutes before we went to check in. I was really worried that they would make me take him out of the stroller and I didn't want to because he would wake up very cranky. So, while everyone waited outside, I went inside to check in and asked them if it would be ok if we took our stroller with us and put it next to the car. Luckily, they said Yes.
After about a 5 min. wait, we were called. Upon entering the dining room, I completely fell in love with it. I loved the themeing and how it looked like a pretty night.
We sat in a car with 3 rows of seats. We looked over the small menu but everyone found something to eat easily.
Here we are in our car (license plate on the back said we were from California)....
DS was in the stroller at this time next to me in the aisle.
Our server took a while to get to us, but when he did he was pretty fast. After he brought our drinks, he took our orders down.
My SIL and I got the shrimp pasta:
This was pretty good, a big portion and had huge shrimp and lots of them.
DH got the ribs and was able to substitute the sides for fries which he was very happy about...
and a choc. milkshake for us to share:
DD got the mac n' cheese. (didn't get the pic) She said it was good.
DH's brother got a grilled chicken sandwich....(didn't get the pic). He didn't complain and he complains about his food all the time.
Our neice and nephew got the kids pizza meals: Here is where we ran into some trouble. Both kids were barely touching their food. They said the pizza was nasty. My BIL tried a piece and agreed that it was disgusting. We sent it back and they got hot dogs instead which they liked better.
The server had no trouble changing their meals which was great.
Soon after our meals came out, my DS woke up very cranky and mad! He cried and cried and I could barely eat because he wanted me to hold him the whole meal! I tried feeding him and doing whatever I could, but everyone kept looking at us because the baby was probly annoying everyone. There was really nothing I could do.....
which started stressing me and DH out. Then DS got a hold of the ketchup on our table and spilled it all over me and DH's pants and the seat. We called over the server and he immediately brought us a ton of napkins and asked what he could do which to me is great service.
The way the baby was acting made us want to hurry up and get out of there but this was not disney's fault so even though we were stressed and trying to rush, we will have to come back one day when DS is older.
Before we left, the kids got ice cream with their meals and DD got a birthday sundae.
None of the kids ate their ice creams which was very surprising to all of us. They all said they didn't like it.
Maybe the kids ice cream is different than the ice cream they put in the milk shakes? Not sure, because our milk shake was delicious. Our neice said it was that cheap ice cream you'd get in golden corrals....
So, other than the kids pizza meals and the strange ice cream, it truly wasn't that bad of a meal and we probly would be back and the very nice quiet dining room was very relaxing until my DS woke up.
