We’re supposed to leave tomorrow Wednesday but there calling for snow with a winter advisory what happens to our points if the flight gets canceled. We’d basically have to cancel day of arrival is there something that can be done so we don’t lose the points.

If you cancel now, your points go into holding. If you wait until your flight is actually cancelled, Member Services will usually be understanding.

Is the airline letting you move your flight (they usually do).
Can you leave today? Tonight?

Member Services *may* be willing to help. Even then, most likely outcome is they give you the points back with the Holding limitation.

Remember, that's the point of travel insurance. I'm not unsympathetic and I've never bought insurance for a DVC trip myself. But I think that's the risk we assume under those conditions--that we may lose a few points every once in a while if winter weather leads to travel delays.

Hope it works out for the best. Even if you're delayed, you'll get there eventually!

Thanks for the helpful replies. Actually the weather isn’t as bad as they were calling which has been the case this winter. We live on a circle and they already plowed our street. That’s good to know about trip insurance on DVC. I didn’t think you could get insurance I’ll have to keep that in mind. Our CC has trip insurance I wonder if they would cover points. Few hrs and we’re on our way😀thanks again
