Snorkeling Excursions on Lookout and Castaway

I'm considering a snorkeling excursion on both islands. I'll be solo for the excursion. My husband is afraid of sharks! We were at both Islands over the summer and I had fun snorkeling on Castaway, looking at all the statues. My husband stayed on the ship for Lookout and I ended up just swimming and not snorkeling.

It's time to book my activities for the next cruise. I could just snorkel in the same spot at Castaway. I'll probably do the stingray feeding, too. Has anyone done a snorkeling excursion that you'd recommend? Is Snorkeling by Boat C89 exceptional? I also saw The Triple Adventure C90, which sounds great, but it includes fishing. I'm kind of sad about catch and release.

On Lookout, I see Tropical Reef Safari LPT18. Any feedback on that? How is Snorkeling on the island without an excursion? Is it safe to do alone?

We did LPT 18 and thoroughly enjoyed it. We're snorkeling enthusiasts, too. The water was deeper than traditional snorkeling, but the views were pretty amazing. Water was super clear, saw tons-o-fish, a few octopi (octopuses?), and a nurse shark. We're going again in Jan and were all set to repeat it, but age is catching up and I'm having my hip replaced next week; doctor said no fins in January (boo!), otherwise, we'd be on the boat again.

We've not done and of the CC excursions, though; always just snorkeled the lagoon and lazed on the beach. Have fun!

Thanks @dad of 3 addicted to DCL That sounds perfect!

I was planning on getting a Mabrika cabana so my husband could enjoy that while I was in the ocean, but they were all booked. Plus, the price was $1k . 😮 I figured if I had a good snorkeling experience and he stayed on the ship and had a spa day, we'd both be happier and it would cost a lot less.

Can you bring your own snorkel gear?
Sure. We have for years. I have a strangely shaped face (and doesn't that sound weird), so I need my own mask to avoid leaks. DW & I invested a few hundred bucks and we got great fins, bags, masks and whatnot. Totally worth it to us
