Snorkel Equipment on LCLP - Young Children

I just noticed that the minimum age to rent snorkel equipment on LCLP is 10 years old, whereas, it is only 5 years old on CC. I was excited for my 9yo to snorkel on LCLP since, based on videos that I've seen, there seem to be more variations of fish, compared to what I remember on CC.

I looked closely at the Snorkeling sign in a LCLP video and I see that it says, "Persons who do not meet the minimum age of 10 years may not snorkel.

-Is there a boundary as to where those under 10 can swim? Can a 9yo be out there where people snorkel or must they stay closer to shore?
-Also, we can't rent snorkel equipment for a 9yo, but can she use a vest?

I know our alternative is to snorkel while she goes to the kids club area, but I was hoping she'd be able to see the aquatic life while we're there.

I believe CC is a much more sheltered beach/snorkeling area with relatively calm waters. LC is open ocean with some much stronger, larger waves. The age limit is likely a liability issue and DCL won't waiver on such things.

Understood. Makes perfect sense. I know she can’t snorkel. My questions are, is there a boundary as to where those under 10 can swim and can they use a vest?

Maybe you'll find the answer here? Looks like there are buoys and flags set up depending on the currents, waves, etc. States the complimentary vests are available at the snorkel area - just not sure if you can use them just for swimming?

I'm not sure there is any restriction on the snorkeling vests. Or if you are asking about a life vest, yes she can wear that to swim. There are complimentary life vests onboard at the pools as well as on the islands.

As for a boundary -- there are buoys but I don't know about a physical rope or netting. Children are allowed on the family beach, but I don't think there is any designation of swimming areas for <10 vs 10+.
