What do you take along for someone who snores? Loudly at that! Breathe Right strips do not work. :confused3:scared1:

Sometimes the strips help, my advise is to take earplugs for yourself. You might want to try them out before you go because it can take some getting use to.:thumbsup2

Earplugs? ;)

I guess its how willing the snorer is to address the 'problem'. putanendtosnoring.com has a range of advice.

Both my husband and I snore. But he complains more than me because I fall asleep faster than him. We usually crank the A/C unit in the room and I sleep in the bed closest to it.

I snore pretty loudly myself. There is a throat spray that I used for a while that my husband swears was a miracle product. I don't remember the name of it but it was in a red bottle and you sprayed a few sprays in your throat. I can tell you, it was AWFUL. I could barely make myself spray again after the first spray which is why I quit using it. Good luck!

... have him make an appointment with an ENT doctor or a sleep clinic for AFTER Disney -- he may have Obstructive Sleep Apnea and that is more than annoying, it is a problem that needs treating. GOOD LUCK! I second the white noise idea. Maybe WITH earplugs?

Earplugs, seriously, my mother is a HORRIBLE snorer. Sometimes the heat/ac fan in the room helps but if it's real bad, take earplugs.

My husband snores and sadly I use earplugs every night. The strips don't help hime either.

My husband used to snore so loud and he made the worst sounds ever. It sounded like a dying animal. It turned out he had obstructive sleep apnea due to his tonsils being ridiculously enlarged. He got them taken out and he's a whole new man.

Last year we went to WDW with my mother in law and her snoring is horrific. If you have comfortable ear phones, I found that listening to music really helped.

I was concerned about this also for our WDW trip this summer as my husband snores very loudly. Several months prior we ordered the mouth piece from 'pure sleep'. It works 90% of the time - which is a great improvement. He used it on our trip and we were all able to sleep thru the night :woohoo: One side note is that after a few nights he does complain that his jaw is a little sore in the morning...

I was a very loud snore person for years. My wife hated it. A few months ago I finally decided to go to an ENT Doc, and had 2 sleep studies (which I wont lie, they suck), and was diagnosed with Severe Sleep Apnea. I was put on a CPAP machine, and my snoring has stopped my wife is happy to report. It takes a few months to get really comfortable with the CPAP machine, but it does work. I plan on taking my CPAP with me to disney next week, my first time traveling with it, but luckily it counts as a medical carry-on and I still get my regular carry on so no big deal, its not very large.

Unfortunately the sleep studies are expensive...my insurence wouldn't cover it. :headache:

That stinks. Well headphones or earplugs it is! Good luck! :)

I kick my husband and throw pillows at him. Also, there's always the possibility of getting your doc to prescribe you Ambien.

As far as ear plugs go, I use the wax kind instead of foam. They create more a seal. Then get a pair of large but comfy ear phones, not buds, and put over your ears with the ear plugs in.

Where might I purchase wax earplugs? Preferably not online anywhere because I leave on Sunday!

I've seen them at Walgreens - they have a pretty big selection of different types of earplugs.

If you have a chance before your trip, try to find a white-noise machine, too. Target sometimes carries them. They're about $30 and help to "even out" the noise.

I actually found some silicone ones at Wal*Mart but I am unsure about them. Has anyone used the silicone ones?
