DW and I have been trying to decide where to go for four nights for our 10th anniv.

Vegas, Jamaica....etc.

This morning I said "why don't we do a pre trip survey for our October OKW stay?" This went over very well.

We've never been to the Mouse alone.

My question is should I just pay cash or rent points? We haven't decided where to stay. DD looks pretty reasonable for a cash stay. But is renting points and staying closer better?

We will be there June 30 and leaving July 4.

Did you use all available points for your fall stay? Could you borrow a few weekday points from next year without harming other vacation plans? I usually plan out point usage in detail for several years, so I always know if there is something available. I have never quite been able to justify spending money for a room at WDW when we own DVC. Staying at DD area is not the same as staying on site. I would definately try to stay at a DVC resort.

I vote for either borrow points from next use year if available or rent points rather than staying offsite, even at one of the DD area hotels. After all, you want to be able to do a proper pre-trip survey .

We just booked one night with our points and paid for the rest in cash. At $10 a point I would have saved about $90 by renting.

This will work out fine. We got a studio at BWV.

I'm going 6/30 thru 7/8 at a 1 bedroom at BWV. I tried to get a studio for some visiting relatives at BWV on 7/5 or the WLV and the place is booked (on points) for that night. I did get a studio at OKW for that night and I was put on the BW waitlist.

DW and I stayed onsite without the kids for our 25th. Loved it so much that we bought into the DVC so we could spend more time at our favorite place. Now, not a day goes by that we don't discuss the next trip. Our recomendation for a romntic stay is the WL. quiet, bueatiful and everything an anniversary celebration deserves. inkbounc
