Hi i am super scared of snakes. :scared1:  :sad2: I was reading a report on the dining reviews board when someone posted 1) that they saw a snake at one of the waterparks and 2) that alot of people had reported seeing snakes at WDW recently. Has anyone heard anything about this?

Please don't post any pictures of snakes or i won't be able to read this thread, but i would like to know, TIA!

i saw a snake at a blizzard beach, luckily it was dead. and its head was chopped off. i have no idea why though. it was kind of odd. that is the only snake i have seen at WDW though...

I have never seen em at disney but i see them arond where i live all the time there has been alot of baby ones around lately.

But doubt you will be harmed by an snakes well you're down here unless you see one and do something stupid.

There have been lots of threads all over the Dis about "snake spottings". ;) There was one here recently (w/pictures) of a snake found in a 2nd fl room at the CR (wing). It had made a nest and laid eggs when it was discovered.

WDW is build in a swamp in FL, the natural habitat for many snakes. I am afraid of them, too. I don't let this fear "ruin" my vacations. Sure, I'm more careful looking for them. I avoid the places where they are more likely to hide (the edges of pool areas near shrubs, etc.) I don't walk in the grass, etc.

OMG!!! :scared1: I have never seen snakes at Disney, and i hope i never do. I come from a country where snakes are very rare, i can't deal with them!

The only time I have seen a snake was at Blizzard Beach. It slithered across the walkway heading up to one of the slides that we were going on...creeped me out, but I never saw it again! And i've never seen another one since...I do see lots and lots and lots of those little lizards though...

this is kind of funny though (looking back). A few years ago we were at AK on the walkway from the train to Rafiki's Planet Watch. Along the way, there is a spot for the kids to stop and look for items in the woods. They are given a list and they have to find things like a fern or a fake squirrel or whatever. I was helping my daughter and saw what I thought to be a fake snake (creepy enough for me as it were) but didn't see it on the list. Didn't the snake move and make it's way down to the walkway!!! :scared1: I was out of there like no tomorrow. The CMs said he visited quite often and was harmless but I wasn't about to stick around to get to know him better.

Haven't seen any snakes (THANK GOD!!! - I'm deathly afraid of them) but . . .

I do see a big mouse running around everywhere!!

:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

OMG! If my mom heard about this she wouldn't want to go to Disney anymore...well maybe not that dramatic but she is DEATHLY afraid of snakes even fake ones! I am actually glad this was posted because last trip in December my DS (1) kept running into the grassy bushy areas at the resort and at AK. I never even thought that snakes would be that close to populated ares like the parks etc.! I will definately be more aware for our trip in May. I don't like those slithery creatures either!

I be danged. I think we have seen the same snake. :lmao: I was going to post that we saw a snake crossing a path at AK and you beat me to it. We saw the snake on the same path you mentioned.

A few years ago we went to the NC Zoo which has quite a bit of woods between exhibits. We saw a black snake crossing the path which freaked out some people.

We live kinda in the country. City/town is moving towards us. There is a 5-6 foot long black snake I see from time to time. Lots of offspring from that big snake. I usually see 1-2 foot long black snakes. I love them. :scared1:  They try to keep a lid of the mice population and I have only seen one or two copper heads which I don't like. :rolleyes1

Later,
Dan

I have never seen a snake at Disney but I have seen snakes in Florida.

I've had two run-ins with snakes at WDW. One was on the back path behind the Beach Club. There is a path that skirts the woods, and we saw a black snake about 3 feet long. It scooted out of the way very quickly. The other was very weird. In front of the Japan pavilion, there were two snakes all twisted up like they were fighting. One of the snakes was eating the other one! There were people just looking at them in amazement. Very bad show!

I had one slither over my sandled feet at Blizzard Beach. I passed out, it was so embarrassing! You can say I have an insane phobia of them, I just try not to think about it while I'm in the "World".

Ew. Snakes.

However, snakes are nothing compared to my fear of SPIDERS!!!!!!!!!!! I live in CO so we get some spiders here, but in general, nothing too big...

during our trip to the world in Sept we were walking through the resort to catch the bus one morning when suddenly we see a group of people standing and looking at a group of palm trees...Um... okay.....it's a tree....???

We get up to the group and see what they were looking at. A HUGE web was built between two trees with a HUGE HUGE HUGE spider right in the middle of it all. I swear, this thing was bigger than my hand! Freaked me out but it was there every day so I kinda got used to it...as long as he stayed in the tree and AWAY FROM ME, I was okay lol. We named him Spooky. :)

I saw a TINY snake outside my room at OKW. This thing was just so small... I am also afraid of snakes, and I avoided walking in the grass, and I just kept an eye open for them.

I've never seen snakes at WDW... maybe beacuse I've been 5 times in my life... my advice.. try not to panic and dont think about it... I'm sure you'll be too excited (because you are at WDW) to remember snakes ;)
